Flamingo Land Flamingo Land 2021

Black Rhino Chanua featured on BBC breakfast tv this morning, preparing to travel to Tanzania.

Really good news, plus she has full sisters in Europe so to me that's great news. Great to see another British zoo sending back to the wild

I assume it has been done in consultation with the breeding program and provided a sufficient number of younger age class breeders remain.

I have some reservations how this might impact future reproductive stability of the European program. I am not yet convinced her transfer is something to be applauded or take a rain check.

Sometime ago I have just been over to Flamingo Land Facebook page and I understand that Black Rhino Chanua is traveling to Tanzania

Has anybody remembered about watching Zoo Vet at Large long time ago ? Yes it did feature Flamingo Land in it and I have got some videos on YouTube if you type in Zoo Vet at Large. I have remembered about the zebra swap when a new zebra stallion arrived from Longleat

@Jedd Cullinan I vividly remember watching Zoo Vet At Large,I enjoyed the series. I believe the Zebra that Were exchanged between Longleat Safari Park and Flamingo Land were called Stripe and Spot. I truly wish that the series was on DVD!!

Black rhino Chanua left FLamingo Land this Wednesday (10 March 2021). According to Yorshirepost "Chanua will travel to Kent, where she will be introduced to two other female rhinos, before being taken by air to Tanzania."

Was she sent to Port Lympne? Who are the other two female black rhinos? Can't find anything on that.

Kumali the Male Lion has sadly passed away at the age of 18 due to age related illness as it's on Instagram

He was one of the lions who was brought from Longleat back in 2005

Born 2003 i think to Maffuii and Amy if I'm not mistaken, I seem to remember it featuring on Animal Park. Transferred to Flamingo Land around end of 2004. Kabir arrived as the replacement

Thats right Zazzi was born at Longleat in 2000 and is still alive as of last year. She had 2 cubs born just before she left Longleat who were called Nala & Stumpy but think Flamingo Land renamed them.
