I was here about one month ago and was pleasantly surprised..mainly because of the "childrens zoo" tag which lead me to think the worse [although ISIS might tell you otherwise].I did suggest to the people there that they should get rid of it - locals know what to expect but out-of-towners may be put off.Other than that,the only thing I didn't like at all[apart from no scientific names on the labels] is the forthcoming replacement of the Australian nocturnal house[in which the bats aren't Australian] with Bay of Rays[yawn]...the Short-beaked Echidnas are going to Saint Louis but the elderly Striped Opossum will see out its days at the zoo.

The red panda cub has made it past the first critical 30 days. They are optimistic now about its future.
