On May 23rd, the zoo announced they transferred (0.0.20) Rote Island snake-necked turtles to the Bronx Zoo in New York to be released into the wild.

On June 14th, it was announced that the zoo acquired a (0.1) blue-throated macaw from the Los Angeles Zoo in California. It was also announced that the zoo transferred a (1.0) Cape vulture to the Los Angeles Zoo.

On June 29th, the zoo announced that (0.0.2) Caribbean flamingos hatched which are now on exhibit in Flamingo Bay.

Some news, the zoo has a new female Mandrill on breeding reccomendation!

also some news/intersting tidbits I noticed during my visit:
  • 4 Green Peafowl chicks are in the gorilla aviary
  • A pair of Anegada Island Iguanas have replaced the Grand Cayman Blue Iguanas in the exhibits next to the Exit and outdoor Komodo Dragon habitat
  • The Four-Eyed Chameleon exhibit which has been off exhibit for 2 years, now has a pair of Veiled Chameleons
  • The Saddle-Billed Stork chicks grew fast! they are almost the same size as their parents though still have baby feathers
  • The African Leopards came from Tanganyika, which confirms they are generic.
  • The Gharials have been showing breeding behaviors but no dice.

On September 15th, the zoo announced that a (0.1) hybrid orangutan named PT celebrated its 50th birthday.

On November 7th, it was reported that the zoo transferred a (1.0) red wolf named Frye to the Roger Williams Park Zoo in Rhode Island.

On December 16th, it was announced that the zoo acquired a (1.0) red-fronted macaw from the San Francisco Zoo in California on October 26th.

On December 28th, the zoo announced that (0.0.21) lesser flamingos and (0.0.3) Caribbean flamingos hatched in 2023.

On December 28th, the zoo announced that (0.0.21) lesser flamingos and (0.0.3) Caribbean flamingos hatched in 2023.

Proving that setting up breeding colonies in dedicated facilties helps the lesser flamingos prosper.
 
Ah, thank you for finding that! I was so excited by the facebook post that I didn't cross-check to see if more info was out there elsewhere. Interesting that they kept his birth a secret (per their own wording) for two and a half months.
