This will hopefully be the last update for a long time concerning Kamaia. Some of his stitches opened so he underwent another procedure to amend it. Veterinarians discovered another problem: some of his abdominal membrane was protruding through the incision area. This was quickly corrected.

"Since surgery, he has been recovering very well and his anemia has greatly improved. Earlier today though, some of his sutures opened, which necessitated another procedure under anesthesia to repair the incision. During the procedure, it was discovered that some of the membranes in his abdomen had herniated through the incision site, which the veterinary team surgically repaired. There was no involvement of any of the internal organs. The surgery went well, and Kamaia is recovering in his off-exhibit space, where his care team is closely monitoring him."

On July 7th, the zoo announced that Kamaia is now back on exhibit.

This is all Great news! I really still love interacting with the prairie dogs lol they are so adorable :)
The goat news is great I can’t wait to see all of these baby’s when I go next week! Seems like a lot of the New England zoos are really bringing exciting news :) which I am really glad to see

Old wild dog, now hyena and soon to wild dog house is under refresh before wild dog are resdy. happy zoo back in love with lycan pictus!

There were other animals mentioned but seem so fairytale at this point. P Wolves are happening. I am for one excited
What do you mean by "P wolves"? This isn't something I've ever heard to refer to an animal before, nor am I aware of any wolf species with a "P" name.

I went today, and a volunteer said that the Hyena transfer will likely be delayed by a couple of months due to the Lions' health issues. The new Masai Giraffe calf was also on exhibit with the zebras and somali wild ass, and that was by far the biggest highlight. I uploaded a bunch of pictures of the giraffes, and also of the new Lowland Nyala, to the gallery. The giraffes were a joy to watch.

Wonder how they proceed now with one lion like before? Hyena is also old. Wonder if move will happen and Wild Dog go on exhibit in place of Hyena?
I'm confused at what you mean by this. Are you asking if they are sending their remaining lion to a different zoo? Or are you implying that the loss of one lion will somehow impact the new hyena exhibit/acquisition of wild dogs? I wasn't under the impression that the hyena/wild dog projects had anything to do with the lion exhibit, and I don't think this would affect that at all.

One Hyena is also very old and with Lion medically issues was delaying move. Wonder if Zoo will not move old Hyena over. Delayng Wild Dog.

has anything else happened with nyala, last time they were in a pred-intro with the river hogs
also do we know where theyre sourcing AWD from?

Atleast he in peace now.

This makes me so sad :( I’m really sad that Danari will be left alone, They will probally be transferring Him to another zoo.. Do you think they will be getting anymore African Lions

Doubt Dinari leaves. Last time another died, they kept Cris on xhibit. I don’t think they get new lions or companion. Dinari and his brother killed liones at Dallas Zoo.
