Do you know why that’s the case? Any reproductive or compatibility issues? Rocky and Raza currently have a breeding recommendation. She will not be introduced to Rocky any time soon.
I am not as knowledgeable as a big cat keeper but as far as I know introducing breeding pairs does take time.Do you know why that’s the case? Any reproductive or compatibility issues? Rocky and Raza currently have a breeding recommendation.
Well Raza has been at the center since early 2021 iirc so I’m a little confused why they still haven’t begun introductions.I am not as knowledgeable as a big cat keeper but as far as I know introducing breeding pairs does take time.
I unfortunately have no information on this, I wish I did.Do you know why that’s the case? Any reproductive or compatibility issues? Rocky and Raza currently have a breeding recommendation.
They will be getting $20M out of the Greensboro Parks and Recreation bond that will be voted on this month. This will find these projects as well as many more! The media announcement gives the impression that they are beginning fundraising for this project. This would be years away.
I'd say *just as*. North Carolina has the BIG ticket animals, while Greensboro fills in the gaps that North Carolina has in its collection (e.g. penguins, tigers, gibbons, okapi, cassowary, small cats other than sand cats, etc.)Once this is done, I could see the GSC becoming more popular than the NC Zoo!! I am at a loss of words to explain how excited I am!
Also the center has two new lapwings that will go on exhibit with the kookaburras
Unpopular opinion, but I actually prefer the Durham Science Center. The species list is small, but it is a bit of walk to get back to the popular animals (ring-tailed lemurs, red wolves, etc.). For someone like me who can't stand crowds, GSC is a bit too compact and the animals are too easy to access. In Durham, there are times when you get the whole exhibit to yourself for 15 or 20 minutes. I guess it all depends on what a person is interested in. GSC is definitely on the up, and locally I hear everyday co-workers and friends speaking more favorably about it than the NC Zoo.
