Jeeze. You guys beat me to it by about 2 hours.

Ok, well no one has guessed the first one, so I will say baby harp seal.
I think you'll find Javan Rhino beat you to the answer for number one (polar bear) by seven hours..... :p

And I was the first person to guess wombat, just out by specific species :p

I think the mystery leg is some sort of hoofstock, thought I'd hit the nail on the head with pronghorn but will have to do some searching :p

1. Polar Bear- JavanRhino
2. Southern Hairy-nosed Wombat- Chlidonias
3. Sandhill Crane- BZF
4. Black-tailed Prairie Dog- BZF
5. ? ? ? ? ?
6. Chacoan Peccary- BZF
7. Dexter Cattle- BZF
8. Greater Rhea- BZF

BeardsleyZooFan's got 5/8 right, although they might have been a little easy for him. So, to make it fair, whoever gets the last one will go next.

Hint: Furry, and JavanRhino, believe it or not, has had the closest guess when he said "dwarf giraffe" :D

I'd have to say llama (a camelid at any rate, so one of the South American ones: if everyone takes a stab at a species we'll nail it :D)

Guanaco - there's my guess.

I think the legs are hairier on the domestic camelids, so that leaves us with Vicuna or Guanaco if you're right Chlidonias. I'm noticing the reddish-brown on the leg, and don't think Vicuna have that :s

AARGH Chlidonias! That makes so much sense now that I think of it, considering it looks like a Llama leg, and since most of these photos were taken at Beardsley, and Beardsley has Llamas... well you get the idea.:D

Thin and greasy - oh no, I always thought they look beautiful and velvety!

Well, yes, they're downright gorgeous and velvety soft, but I said greasy because of a San Diego Zoo video I saw where a zookeeper rubbed an okapi and showed the greasy stain it left on his hand. :D

THE WINNER IS...............

Chlidonias,
once again!

It's a LLAMA!

So we had
1. Polar Bear (taken by my uncle at San Diego Zoo)
2. Southern Hairy-nosed Wombat (also at San Diego Zoo)
3. Sandhill Crane (Beardsley Zoo- the rest are Beardsley Zoo pics)
4. Black-tailed Prairie Dog (the cropped prairie dog is the one in the back :))
5. Llama
6. Chacoan Peccary
7. Dexter Cattle
8. Greater Rhea

I wasn't really playing this round because I came in too late, so I'll give my turn to Javan Rhino (because he did at least know number 2 was a wombat, and he got polar bear and some of the others; and, er, "baby giraffe"....which isn't as bad as "albino ostrich chick" :D)

8 pics was overkill, and a bit unwieldy. Maybe limit them to a maximum of 4 or 5 this round? Just a suggestion.
