Does anyone know how old the wombat pair are? Sorry I know its not news but I am curious since ei couldn't find any evidence of how old they are.

Visited for a couple of hours today. Quite a few things of note:
There was a brown collared lemur baby clinging to mum in the enclousre near the entrance.
4 tawny frogmouth chicks that hatched in the last two weeks, with any potentially due to hatch in the next couple of days. In a brooder next to them is a turaco chick.
No sign of the fat sand rats, and their enclosure was completely empty.
There was a civet in the jaguarundi enclosure....
What owl chicks? Am I missing something?Last weekend the jaguarundi was in the enclosure next to the civet (so between the civet and the end where the meerkats are) having moved from their previous space.
Great news on the owl chicks!
My mistake on the frogmouths. Well you’re not missing thatWhat owl chicks? Am I missing something?

More of a nightjar than an owlI can quite honestly say that I didn’t know they were not owls - which is madness as I’ve seen them tonnes at Hamerton and love to photograph them - every day here is a school day!
At risk of derailing the thread, even that's not quite as correct as it was once believed to be; molecular studies seem to suggest frogmouths are closer evolutionarily to owlet-nightjars, swifts, and hummingbirds than true nightjars, which branched off considerably earlier from that same clade.More of a nightjar than an owl
The zoo has said on their website that the 2020 burrowing owl chicks have moved to the Scottish owl centre in order to make room for the 2 chicks hatched this year.
Oops, thank you!Barking, not Burrowing![]()
