I'd say it's hit or miss. There are a lot of pictures of bad Asian zoos going around online (mainly from China or Indonesia), and not a lot from good Asian zoos (Such as the Mandai complex). While in Europe and America it's the opposite. Lots of pictures from the big boys, such as Prague or San Diego, but not many from American roadside zoos or zoos from the Balkans. That's why I think the narrative tends to shift to "Asian zoos bad, Western zoos good"

Safe to say we're all looking forward to more content from Asia!
