Houston Zoo Centennial Campaign
Went bouncing through the future plans website with the new exhibit open. I see 3 things I didn't recognize before:
1) Orangutan redesign has a date of 2020.
2) Front Entrance and new Restaurant has slipped to 2024.
3) Galapagos exhibit now lists Penguins in species list. Other creatures were there before.
4) The overall section map now lists the Children's Zoo as "John P. McGovern Children's Zoo: Texas!" The "Texas!" is new.
I wish there was a way to incorporate the maned wolves into the South American exhibit, but it looks like Houston has already sent their stock elsewhere. They had been a staple of the zoo since the 90s.
Kudu, Eland, Warthogs, Cassowary and other African hooved animals appear gone for the time being, though I expect they will be back to take over the exhibits the south american creatures leave behind next year. Look forward to seeing what will temporarily replace the current Jaguar exhibit and some areas of children's zoo as Texas wetlands becomes repetitive of some parts.
