@Vision What are Four Paws Vietnam and Save Vietnam's Wildlife?
They're two rescue centres also situated next to the EPRC and the Turtle Conservation Centre, each with a small permanent collection of non-releasable animals. Save Vietnam's Wildlife focuses on pangolins (Sunda and Chinese) and small carnivores (the main focus is on Owston's palm-civets, but also Common palm civet, Masked palm-civet, Leopard cats and Binturongs are kept), and Four Paws Vietnam focuses on the bears - I saw Asian black bears, but I think they might have some Sun bears as well.

When I visited Cuc Phuong I was there together with a friend that volunteered in the EPRC, who knew most of the volunteers in the other centres as well - I had no idea there were this many parks in such a small area either, before going there!

Oh, I just knew SVW as the Carnivore and Pangolin Conservation Centre, and I had no idea there was a bear sanctuary there at all, in fact I almost wonder if it's very new?

It definitely looked new! From a quick google search it looks like it opened in March this year :)

Spurred on by @CGSwans I did some accounting and found that I am on ~135, which also means that I have visited 34 new zoos this year, almost certainly my record. Collection-wise, next year will be less busy, but I hope I can still hit 150, which will be the next big milestone.
I should imagine I'll also slow down next year, I believe I'm on 35 (I think) zoos for this year... Have you planned zoo 150? Or just going with the flow? :)

Until about an hour ago I hadn't realised it was imminent. I will have to have a look at zoos I know I will be visiting to see when it might fall, but there's a chance it will be while I'm travelling and pretty much it will have to be the zoo at the city I am in (since I will certainly not avoid visiting any zoos that I might not have another chance at, and I'm not really inclined to add places on for the sake of it either).

I've just done a quick count of my zoo list (which is in a notebook, I've never got round to doing an L spreadsheet!) and I'm on 72, with only three being outside of the UK, and only five being outside of England.

There are a couple of dubious entries on there though. Trago Mills (wallabies, parrots, chipmunks, walkthrough aviary), Kings Heath Park aviaries (pheasants, finches, small parakeets), and a country park in the Black Country from the early 90's (deer, polecats, an Arctic fox, various game birds) are probably my most "borderline" cases.

I’m currently on 106 with the two Paris zoos coming up next just before Christmas. I won’t be able to get to the Australian and New Zealand collections I had lined up as my planned trip there is cancelled but it’s likely that I’ll be spending a great deal of time over the coming year in in the Netherlands which will mean lots more new zoo opportunities.

A modest 8 new zoos this year moves me to 382.

New zoos: Selwo Aventura, Bialowieza Show Reserve, Akcent Zoo Bialystok, Grugapark, TerraZoo Rheinberg, Tierpark + Fossilium Bochum, Wildpark Grafenberger Wald, Axe Valley Wildlife Park

Total of 33 different zoos visited in the year, beyond the above mostly old favourites in the UK or the Ruhr/Rhein area, but also including Warsaw, Nuremberg, Prague and Pilsen.

I know I already posted on this thread and gave another number (I don't remember how much) but that was including a lot of zoos presumably visited before 2016 of which I don't have any memory as well as some institutions I would hardly consider zoos today.

If I go by my new criteria (zoos I know I have visited + true zoos), I'm sitting at 20 zoos currently, the 20th being Tierpark Hellabrunn today! By country:
