Any photographs and memories of these you can share would be much appreciated! The latter was notoriously terrible, but has been near-completely forgotten now, so sharing of your insights would be great.
Hi TLD, I doubt whether there would be anything left now as I've moved house twice since the 1980's which would be the decade I visited both Norfolk and Knaresborough, but I will have a look through some of my old photos and see if there's anything that relates.

I put a piece of video on the Wolverine quiz thread showing Norfolk in the very early days, including some of the (Ornamental) Pheasant Trusts enclosures behind the shots of eagle and owl. Maybe as many people dont look at those quizes, it would be better somewhere else? Please move it if you think so...

Excellent - I will copy the post into a distinct thread to boost the visibility a bit! :)

I'm fairly new to the "zoo life" but here is my count:

(All of these are in the USA)

Zoos
Southwick's Zoo
Roger Williams Park Zoo
Capron Park Zoo
Franklin Park Zoo
Buttonwood Zoo

Aquariums
New England Aquarium
Mystic Aquarium
(I am missing an Aquarium that I went to for a school trip. I think it was Biomes Marine Biology Center but I'm not exactly sure)

Animal Sanctuaries/Farms that aren't exactly farms anymore/Other places
Winslow Farm Animal Sanctuary
Davis Farmland
The Butterfly Place
WWI Memorial Park
Butterflies of Cape Cod

8 total zoos/aquariums
13 when you add in the extra places

Discounting many roadside crapholes, the Detroit Zoo, Toledo Zoo, Belle Isle Aquarium, Shedd Aquarium, Lincoln Park Zoo, Coumbus Zoo, The Wilds, John Ball Zoo, Saginaw Children's Zoo, and The Creature Conservancy. I planned on going to Georgia Aquarium and Zoo Atlanta the week after everything shut down. So only 10 places now, (albeit ones I've been to countless times) 12 in the future. Possible places I may check out are Binder Park Zoo, African Safari Wildlife Park, Toronto Zoo, African Lion Safari, Cincinnati Zoo, Philadelphia Zoo, National Zoo, Zootampa, Florida Aquarium, Saint Louis Zoo, and probably some other places I'm forgetting.

I forgot about one aquarium on my list

The Seas With Nemo and Friends brings my total to 19 zoos and aquariums
There are two more I would like to add to my list.

The first is the Cincinnati Zoo. I was there when I was really young, so I don’t really remember anything about (except they still had Sumatran rhinos)

The second one is the Nashville Zoo. I was there recently for my birthday. Unfortunately some of the exhibits were closed to either COVID-19 or weather, but it was still a great place to visit.

That brings my total up to 21 zoos and aquariums
