Which former “species” was given the specific epithet “liberatus” and why?
I've even seen this "species" and have uploaded a photo of the only single specimen ever known of it before it was released again. ( hence the species-name liberatus )

OK. What is the fourth species of Eared Pheasant, and which species has it been ‘split’ from in recent years?I guess FBBird has the task of setting the next question as they correctly answered it.
Tibetan eared pheasant (harmani), but for me it's still a subspecies of the white eared pheasant, Crossoptilon crossoptilon. Being grey in colour doesn't make it more different than the various subspecies of the very variable Kalij or Ringneck.
