If you had a zoo, what 5 species would yo definitely have?

If I want people to come and pay money to see my zoo I would have:

Western Lowland Gorillas or Chimpanzees
Elephants (any)
Tigers (any)
Lions
Giant Pandas

Komodo Dragons(Varanus Komodoensis)
Clouded Leopards(Neofelis Nebulosa)
Black Caiman(Melanosuchus Niger)
Indochinese Tiger(Panthera Tigris Corbetti)
King Cobra(Ophiophagus Hannah)

If I were to have a zoo I would want these 5 species for the following reasons:

1. Sri Lankan Asian Elephant (Elephas maximus maximus) if I could obtain a really large bull to go with the cows in the herd because they are on average the largest subspecies of the Asian Elephant.

2. Burmese Banteng (Bos javanicus birmanicus) because they have that nice reddish color and would look really cool in an Indochina themed exhibit with a lot of bamboo.

3. Eld's Deer (Rucervus eldii) because their antlers look so cool and would do good in a mixed species Asian exhibit with other herbivores, birds, or reptiles like the various Asian tortoises.

4. Greater Adjutant Stork (Leptoptilos dubius) because they desperately need help at only about 1,800 left in the wild and are larger than the Marabou Stork. They could be mixed in with endangered Asian vultures to highlight the importance of scavengers in Southeast Asia.

5. False Gharial (Tomistoma schlegelii) because they are endangered and a large crocodilian. Unlike their cousin the Gharial they also choose to prey on mammals and birds like monkeys, small deer and other vertebrates that stray to close to the water's edge.

Magpie Geese
Bornean Orang-utan
Western Fat-Tailed Dwarf Lemur
Acacia Rats
White-throated Monitor

Blue shark
Saola
King bird of paradise
Proboscis monkey( unless the kouprey is still alive)
Sperm whale

Hmm, interesting idea for a thread, very tough to narrow it down to 5 species.

Dugong (obviously:p)
Okapi
Gharial
Jaguarandi
Congo Bay Owl

Well lets go all out.
Giant Panda
Philippine Eagle
Java Rhino
Yangtze giant softshell turtle
Vegas Valley Leopard Frog

Was going to make a comment about the last one being Extinct but then I fell down the rabbit hole that is the wonderful world of taxonomy

I was going to comment the exact same thing, but then it turns out a population of another frog species was exactly identical to the Vegas Leapord Frog. Taxonomy really can be weird :p

Leopard geckos
Stoats
Any bird from Australia ( jake you are from australia )
Brushtailed possum ( also Australian )
Pygmy marmosets

Currently, the most popular animals are:
1 Tiger 12
2 Okapi 7
3 Leopard 6
4 Snow leopard 5
5 Asian elephant, Sumatran orang-utan, cheetah, giraffe, gharial 4
10 Platypus,African savanna elephant, banded linsang, lion, jaguar, dhole, giant panda, polar bear, Nile hippopotamus, shoebill 3

I think many of you like big cats

Staying fairly realistic here. I think these five are more obligatory, and the zoo I'd have in mind would feel incomplete without them:

1. One or more big cats
2. One or more great apes
3. Giraffe
4. Either elephant (excluding African forest)
5. Any rhinoceros (Indian if I could only choose one)

But as for my own personal favorite 'must haves':

1. Okapi
2. Giant anteater
3. Spotted hyena
4. Aye-aye
5. Southern cassowary
