Confirm via Facebook that the zoo received a
pair of Aubrey's Flapshell Turtles.
Some July news:
-On July 6, the zoo collected at least 16 eggs from Motagua Spiny-Tailed Iguana.
-The zoo completed a new guest comfort area with about a half dozen shaded benches and picnic tables.
-The zoo has ground-hatched an unspecified number of Spotted Turtles.
-On July 14/15, the zoo collected 16 eggs from Ricord's Ground Iguana.
-On July 17, the zoo collected 23 eggs from Rhinoceros Iguana.
-On July 18, the zoo announced a pick-up of 46 animals across 11 species. This adds 7 new species to the zoo's collection. These include:
- 2 Wermuth's Toad-Headed Turtles
- 4 Malayan Flat-Shelled Turtles
- 4 Spiny Hill Turtles
- 5 Weber's Sailfin Lizards
- 6 Sulawesi Black Sailfin Lizards
- 2 Red-Tailed Green Ratsnakes
- 2 South American Cane Toads
- 6 Spot-Legged Wood Turtles
- 2 Dumeril's Monitors
- 1 Blue Tree Monitor
- 12 Dumpy Treefrogs
-Ty Park announced that Iguanaland will be opening a new indoor area with approximately 130 new small vivariums intended to house smaller species such as geckos, frogs, and newts/salamanders. This room will be cooled to allow for more heat-sensitive species to be displayed. This area is expected to be ready early 2026.
-On July 19, the zoo acquired a pair of African Dwarf Mud Turtles.
-On July 20, 26 Peruvian Boas were born on-exhibit.
