I would not say any zebras mix particularly “well”, some just mix “better” than others. I certainly would not say any zebras mix well with young of other species — even zebras that have integrated well into mixed herds have been known to attack and kill offspring of other species. It is not a risk that is worth taking.
As Kudu21 said zebras are just very aggressive animals. In the past the zebras and the male ostrich Roscoe has showed aggression towards each other and with a baby Greater Kudu being born almost every year it is to big of a risk to house the zebras with the kudus. Currently the zebras do rotate with the other animals and when they are in the main yard they are usually with the wildebeest and marabou stork. It’s just depends on the day and what time you go as some times the zebras are in the back on the other side of the bridge and sometimes they are in the main yard.
I saw the seals on the Walrus Cam. That’s definitely not concerning, right?
The walruses are temporarily off exhibit, they're renovating/repairing the sea lion/seal pool.
Yeah, the pinniped exhibit could definitely use an upgrade.
It is concerning, but Indianapolis has never been very transparent about their marine mammals.
Yeah, they're not phasing out walruses anytime soon. The walruses being off exhibit is just temporary due to the seal/sea lion pool refurbishment.
Is this certain or speculative? The walruses have been off habitat since ~April-June, with only very rare exceptions (they were still in holding and doing tours which I last saw in late August, however). The seals only moved in very recently. I'm curious as to why it was only those two and not the sea lions, as well.

With this being my home zoo this all sounds exciting! Though, I kinda wish the zoo would release more details about what’s coming, but I understand if they want to keep some things secret.
