Jurassic world

Or because they realized it would have been a clear rip-off of the Anurognathus episode of BBC's "Primeval".

That's not likely to stop them.

:p

I just watched the trailer link a couple of pages back. What's with the gigantic Mosasaur?! It must be several hundred feet long!!

ha funny. Interesting video but I have some issues with his measurements! (Although to his credit he readily admitted in the comments that he made mistakes).

Just a question, will this be the last movie?

No. Unless it bombs massively, but I don't think that will happen. According to Wikipedia, this could be the first film of a new story, assuming its commercially successful. And Hollywood is always thinking about sequels.

According to Wikipedia, it's not a reboot: "Twenty-two years after the events of Jurassic Park, Isla Nublar now features a fully functioning dinosaur theme park, Jurassic World, as originally envisioned by John Hammond."

Yeah it's not a reboot. Evidently the T-rex exhibited is suppose to be the same animal as in the first movie- complete with scars from the raptor fight at the end!

Oh good, it will be an animatronic, not CGI

It'll probably be both, like the first film.

Because I'm a big whiny dino nerd, I'm kind of miffed about how inaccurate some of the creatures are, (as mentioned, the overly large mosasaurs, and the depiction of a pterosaur carrying off an adult) but I might go see the movie anyway. I hope there's a good amount of variety and we get at least some scientifically accurate ones. I don't normally get sucked in by graphics, but dang, some of the visuals look pretty sweet. If nothing else, I can at least get a kick out of laughing at some of the cheesier things, like the raptor army and aforementioned pterosaur.

But I'm still questioning the plot. The new superdino doesn't really look all that much more spectacular than real dinos. I don't really picture it attracting more guests than regular dinos. Also, I'm wondering what the purpose was of making superdino smart. It's supposed to be a theme park attraction, it looks cool. Unless they plan on training it to do tricks, making it super intelligent seems like extra work and a stupid idea.

Personally, I would freaking kill for a David Attenborough role in the next one.

Given he's been dead for almost a year, I doubt that there's a great chance of a reappearance, except for a statue (as in JW) or a film clip.

@TheMightyOrca: given the scraps of hints spread by the trailers and internet rumors, I assume that a) the I-Rex might be able to "communicate" with and agitate the other prehistoric critters against those tasty silly humans, b) might be a super-chamaeleon with Predator-like camouflage abilities and c) might share some DNA with the White Witch character, thus making it her "baby" (see Alien 4). And finally, e) the old T-Rex will probably fight the I-Rex at one point to please all the fanboys and -girls.
Let's see how much I'm able to predict correctly...

And yes, the depiction of several dinosaurs is painfully inaccurate and/or outdated. As stated before, raptors with feathers can look scary

and could be explained by a "updated version" created by Henry Wu. But it's just JW, not an update of WWD.

Richard Attenborough has been dead for almost a year, but not David... ;)

I seem to remember a super camouflaged dinosaur (Carnotaurus) in the books, possibly Lost World, which according to wikipedia is one of the dinosaurs used to create I. rex, so b) seems a definite possibility, and I'm thinking e) is pretty likely too. I'm rather excited about this movie, it should be fun!

I'm just not sure any pterosaur would be physically capable of flying off with an adult human.

Apparently the director says the T-rex from the first film is old and unhappy. Wouldn't be surprised if they fought, though I doubt she'd win, unless maybe other dinos teamed up.

Agreed on the feathers thing. I don't get people who say "Feathered dinosaurs aren't scary!". Bears are pretty fluffy, but you'd have to be crazy not to be scared of one running up to you. And I wouldn't challenge a cassowary to a fight. Part of my annoyance with the designs isn't just dino nerd nitpicking, it's that there's not much change or variety. They're boring. It's the same dinosaurs we've always seen. I can understand why they wouldn't want to update the ones from previous films, but they are using new dinos as well, and it would've been nice to get some with feathers or bright color patterns. Oh well.

On a side note, the website lists the mosasaur as 60 feet long, but the one in the trailer looks way bigger. Admittedly, I do have a very poor perception of size. What do you guys think?
