Well maybe Im jumping to the wrong conclusions(or very high expectations)

Just thought it's odd why they would put a fact about how long a tiger is pregnant for......
Oooooooh that few over my head:p
Yes it’s certainly a possibility...

An email update has confirmed several bits of news from Knowsley.

First, a number of wolf pups have been born and are now on display in Wolf Country. I assume this is to Morena and Carlos, but it doesn't say. They do state that part of Wolf Country had been closed, but now that the pups are bigger, it has been reopened. No comment on how many or how old they are.

Second, Kuzma the Male tiger has been returned to Banham Zoo in Norfolk. The email reports that he was only due to be on loan for a year.

Third, the second, smaller pride of lions (not the drive through pride) are due to move to Parcs Zoologiques Lumigny soon, but it doesn't confirm when.

I'm guessing the pride that are moving will be Scooter's? Whichever pride is going is great news for Knowsley.

Fingers crossed Kuzma did his job during his time here.

Wolf pups are a great result and just in time for welcoming visitors back.

Things appear to be looking up for Knowsley and I'm looking forward to seeing what the future holds.

Yes, from the description I think it was Scooter's pride. It seems like exciting things are on the horizon.

After a bit of research, I've found a post on Facebook from the lions new home. It states that 0:4 lioness' "will arrive next week from the UK" although this was posted last week so they may have already arrived.

They will join the young male "Gao" and the remaining older lions they have will move to the another part of the park.

Scooter may well be staying here at Knowsley unfortunately.

Facebook post shows a pair of pups but still no confirmation on exact number so could just be the pair. Fantastic news either way

Several comments under that post of people who have never seen the wolves on their visits .Spanish wolf do seem largely invisible in collections- Blackpool is a noticeable exception though.

Sad to see the lions go, I always loved seeing the two prides when I lived in the area. They had a great amount of space too with all three of those enclosures.

Yes it's sad but hopefully the enclosures can be put to better use with whatever they hopefully replace them with.
They are surplus individuals and are well represented especially in Britain(I think from looking at bloodlines).
However, from the keepers perspective, it is sad especially as they will have watched them growing up from being born.

Yes, it is bad bad ..., this wolf subspecies only has a global population of 1,000 - 1,500 at best. Guestimates up and above 2,500 should be dismissed as the population is mainly confined to NW Spain and a huge hinterland is empty and trigger happy hunting community and ineffective predator management measures allowing for (il-)legal killing of wolves wandering out of these areas east or south. Rumours that wolves exist further south in Andalucia/Sierra Morena are a figment of peoples' imagination (they have been extinct for years and only because some sources keep copying old records in with no recent evidence whatsoever). Within the EEP/EAZA the Iberian wolf receives tacit if non-active support from the wider community, most efforts are geared towards the Central European/Finno-Russo-Scandinavian wolf ssp.. Even the Abruzzo wolf is not receiving the attention from the conservation breeding community it would undoubtedly deserve. Hence, the breeding at Knowsley is something to be very happy about!
