I remember that her trip to Leipzig would only be a temporary breeding loan, but what is the point of her going back to Hamburg? The bull there is her father. Wouldn't she be more than happy to stay in Leipzig with her mother? and in future have more calves with Naing Thein?
I've read several articles and the reason I keep finding is "Unfortunately all our efforts have failed in recent years to find the appropriate Hagenbeck Zoo elephant, so we now need to file Salvana again" Pardon my ignorance but what does this exactly mean?
 
Indra still belongs to Hagenbeck and they wanted her back ignoring all modern concepts of elephant keeping. Indra is pregnant right now and Hussein will leave Hamburg in the near future anyway (most likely going to Dublin).
 
White-faced saki monkeys and Oriental small-clawed otters arrived for Gondwanaland.
 
Amur-leopard "Takara" (born at Leipzig Zoo June 2010, Xembalo x Vatne) was shipped to Eskilstuna Zoo, Sweden.

Her mother, Vatne, is pregnant again.
 
Three male De-Brazza monkeys (born 2006, 2007, 2008, Jaco x Nora-Florence) left the zoo and found a new home in Greece (Attica Zoological Park, Spata).
 
A female spectacled bear (0,1 "Lolita", born at Leipzig Zoo, 07.02.1998, Monkee x Loja) died yesterday.

A male grevy zebra was born three days ago. At least 10 Reeves's pheasant-, two Temminck's tragopan-, 5 Egyptian goose- and 4 Common eider duck chicks hatched.
 
Three Siberian musk deers were born (at least one female).

A male bonobo from Twycross and two Black-faced ibis from Cologne arrived.

This is very good news for a species that always feels like it's clinging on by its fingertips in Europe.

Two bonobos arrived, 1,0 "Jasongo" (*1990 at Wuppertal Zoo, Mato x Lisala) and 0,1 Bokela (*2003 at Twycross, Kakowet II x Banja).

33 Black-tailed prairie dog arrived from Austria (Salzburg and Herberstein).
 
The armadillo is going to live in the bird house.

A male sloth arrived from Dortmund Zoo.
 
I am comming to leipzig zoo next year. Are there plans for new exhibits next year (or are they broke after gondwana). I'm still trying to deceide if i'm going in the spring or late summer.
 
The building of new exhibits for south american animals will start next year.

A new born Amur leopard died under birth, the last Sri-Lanka giant squirrel died.
