Lincoln Children's Zoo Lincoln Childrens Zoo News

Thanks for the confirmation @MGolka. I knew they still had bats because of their USDA stock lists, but since they weren't listed on the website and I couldn't find any recent references to them I wasn't sure if they were still on exhibit or had been moved off.

Are there any more planned Giraffe transfers for the zoo? I had read in another forum that perhaps Matu from Toronto might come to LCZ.
Interesting! Matu is a pure-bred Masai giraffe, right? Would that mean that Licoln Children's Zoo is switching from generic to pure-bred Masai giraffe?

1.0 Giraffe Mario has moved to the Great Plains Zoo in South Dakota.

Mario is of course a generic reticulated giraffe. Great Plains supposedly already holds 1.1 generics.

Matu unfortunately passed on after respiratory/cardiac arrest under anaesthesia. They initially decided to keep him in Toronto with his family due to a foot issue he had as well, and in order to do that a castration procedure had to take place so he wouldn't inbreed with his mom and sister.
