Lincoln Park Zoo Lincoln Park Zoo News 2021

A southern three-banded armadillo in an enclosure no more than five times five feet,

Believe it or not that’s considered a fairly large exhibit for the species. Also the movement of the animal that you describe may be stereotype but it’s not necessarily negative and is quite normal for the species. I see it no matter how big the enclosure is.

I have no memory of my last visit to Lincoln Park Zoo, I really should visit soon (if my parents take me there of course). Does anyone know what animal could be included in the Asian complex?

I am not aware of any zoos that use such an enrichment device in a public display area but this is an animal I feel would benefit strongly from a large running wheel (like one of those oversize hamster wheels sold for cats.)

It just seems to be too active for the space allotted even if it is physically a small animal.

No, it’s entirely theoretical at this point. We know that zoo was one point considering an Asian complex but we don’t even know if it’s still on the table or what species would be/were to be involved.

Lincoln Park did more than enough with their last major projects. They may need more donations before they plan on making any major changes like new exhibits, if at all.

Question: Do you need to make a reservation to visit Lincoln Park Zoo like how Brookfield Zoo did a while back?

Nope. Neither zoo requires reservations anymore.
Thanks! I was just looking through their social media posts they've made and I had to make sure that they didn't need reservations, until they removed a re-entry post from their website

Other than the opening of the Pepper Family Wildlife Center, what else is new at the zoo?

You've heard of the Peer David's deer they've added in the Hooftstock last month?

Anyone know if the Lincoln Park Zoo is bringing back jaguars?
I remember seeing them when I was little but I don't think they will bring back Jaguar, Brookfield maybe might have this species
Lincoln Park will not be bringing back Jaguars anytime soon. The zoo concluded that Jaguars did not do well at the old lion house, probably because of how horrid their exhibit was, and we’re not brought back post renovation. Brookfield also does not have Jaguars and hasn’t for many decades.
