Just leave it off please. Most of us are not interested in domestics news.
I'm sorry but I am not going to do that. I see reporting information about domestics about as equal to reporting information about exotics. However, as I said before I will make sure I have actual news about the facility/news about animals that would be classified as exotic while grouping with the domestic.
Given that you have repeatedly gotten snippy and rude with many of us both publicly and privately in response to civil criticism, you tend to set yourself up for pointed criticism. In this case, quite a number of members have told you numerous times to leave off the domestics, but it keeps circling back in anyways. Continuing to double back on things you've said you'd do will draw criticism.
Given that I have been trying to take your criticism to heart and at least improve most of what you and others have said, you are not being fair to me. If you were to have stated that maybe you should have waited until exotic news arrived before posting yesterday, I would have agreed with you.
We're not talking about just one or two members not being interested. Numerous long time members have asked for news about domestics to be left off- they clutter up news threads with information most members of the site don't care about. It's also the sheer quantity of domestics-related content. I wouldn't care to occasionally see domestics-related news come up, especially in regards to new species to a zoo, but it gets frustrating to see every single death or birth of a goat being reported on here by only a handful of members.
The point remains that this is a discussion forum, not a news forum, so news posts should be those with a potential of starting discussion, and posts about the births and deaths of goats are not in the interest of starting a discussion.
I'm surprised you didn't see the irony in saying that domestic news is not in the interest of starting a discussion, while having a discussion criticizing me over posting domestic news.
I can respect your opinion though and tell you that I will tone down on mentioning domestic news, without completely getting rid of it. What frustrates me, and not talking about you specifically, is that I am probably always going to get criticism for posting domestic news because I am not going to back down from my position that I think both domestic and exotic news is newsworthy and discussion worthy, and for some reason, you guys (Great Argus, Neil Chace, IndianRhino, etc) can't understand that I guess.
