Seems odd they split the pair of Africans and even worse that a lone Asian remains. Hopefully Okah will be placed with other elephants as well.

Memphis only had space for one, so couldn't have taken both female African elephants. I'm confident Okah will find a home soon, most likely at a retirement facility.

On January 28th, the zoo announced that a (0.1) California sea lion named Callie has passed away at around 20 years old.

On February 3rd, the zoo announced that (2.0) cougars named Cappucino and Macchiato had started exploring their outdoor exhibit for the first time in the week.

On February 18th, the zoo announced that the (1.0) eastern bongo named Zito has started exploring the African Veldt exhibit for the first time.

On March 3rd, the zoo announced that they have opened a new saltwater tank in the Aquarium building mimicking the intertidal rocky reefs of the Pacific Northwest. Species in the tank include:

- A (1.0) painted greenling named Waldo (the facility plans on acquiring another at a later date)
- (0.0.4) tube-snouts
- (0.0.18) shiner perch, (0.0.1) kelp perch (the facility plans on acquiring more perch species in spring 2022)
- Plumose, rose, and tealia sea anemones

On April 12th, the zoo announced that their (0.2) jaguars named Lulu and Bella has been transferred to other AZA facilities.

Interestingly enough, this tank was visible (Although without lights, and signed as if it were empty) back in December. There were more than 4 tube-snouts, closer to 10 then, however. Thanks for the news, now I can finally ID the greenling (Didn't get good pictures).

On July 9th, it was announced that the zoo acquired a (0.1) fishing cat named Kora from the Greensboro Science Center in North Carolina the week prior.

On July 28th, the zoo announced some animal births, with those being:

- A (1.0) Kirk's dik-dik named Yuji who was born on July 3rd.
- (0.0.2+) knob-tailed gecko hatched 3 weeks prior.
- (0.0.16) emperor scorpions were born 2 weeks prior.
- A (0.0.1) African barbet was born. This is the first time the zoo has bred this species or any species in the family Lybiidae.

Also on July 28th, the zoo announced they have acquired a (0.1) African barbet from Disney's Animal Kingdom in Florida, a (0.1) eastern black-and-white colobus monkey named Alana from the Mesker Park Zoo in Indiana, as well as a (0.0.1) bonobo named Laney from the Jacksonville Zoo in Florida.

Lastly, the zoo announced that the (1.0) eastern black-and-white colobus monkey born in June has a name, Onyx and that the southern ground hornbill born recently is a (1.0).
