Milwaukee County Zoo Milwaukee County Zoo news 2021

I really what the primates in the small mammals building to move to primates of the world if there was a way to get space
Unfortunately there’s no room, they are already bringing some of the small mammals over due to family structures. They needed room in order to house several family groups at the zoo. In order for more mammals to move they need to build onto the primates of the world building or down size their collection.

I'd rather have them build outdoor exhibits around the building that can be entered through tunnel systems. It wouldn't take much to build some quick, easy outdoor exhibits that the primates could spend time in. Milwaukee just doesn't have any money.

What species have been moved over? The Goeldi's Monkeys?

Also all of their vultures are pionioned.
Why flight impaired, it is a management technique not popularly practised in Europe where offspring from the breeding program are more or less destined for release with a few birds retained for the program. Output is less compared to bearded or griffons as their husbandry and getting them to breed is more complex. So, why impair birds here with pinioning?

I don't know the full details, but the enclosure the vultures are kept in has no top. If they weren't pinioned, they would fly away.

The one where they have the juveniles in has no top. However at least the one where they have a breeding pair did have a top on the enclosure.

I also forgot to mention that Desmond the male giraffe will be leaving the zoo this week heading towards another zoo. The red panda baby will be heading to Canada, too.

Also it looks like the zoo is shifting animals around before the summer season. The first one I saw moved were the African Grey cranes. They are being moved back into African Savanna exhibit.

Where in the zoo? Is this a new enclsoure? Or bts?

From Impala Plains? What is even that exhibit right now (Impala Plains I mean, not the savanna).

They are behind the scenes, one by the special exhibit space behind small mammals and the other behind the ARC.

Currently in the IP has the two male zebras, two female ostriches, and I think four female impalas. While the AS has 5 of the juveniles vultures, two African Crown cranes and rotating on and off exhibit is the male impala, the las remaining Thompson Gazelle, and two southern ground hornbills.

the savannah yard needs more hoofstock

what's currently in the watering hole?

Which one is the watering hole? I was at the zoo less than a month ago and didn't see much. The enclosure in front of the lions had a single zebra in it. The one in front of the cheetah had an impala and Thompson's gazelle.

what's currently in the watering hole?
The watering hole that’s below the lions and hyenas, currently they have water bucks, zebras, and greater kudu. They filled the pond in the enclosure so the Marabou stork should be coming out any day now, once the weather is warm enough.

As for why you will only see one zebra in the exhibit with other animals or you will see both zebras with no other animals is because the one zebra is not friendly towards other animals.
