That's a good number! I have 325 but if I exclude homemades then the number is for sure smaller than yours
By my side, I never exclude a figure previously chosen for my collection but I substitute figures by better ones of the same species. That's why I ended with an orphan Safari arctic fox and CollectA mountain goat excluded from my collection

Well @Great Argus, what I was trying to explain before was by simply removing some figures in general to make room for either something new, or because, like you said, I no longer feel interested in having a certain group.

The Yowies hornbill have a greater quality than I expected (leg thickness aside), I may add it to my wishlist. It have a good size matching with, for example, Colorata raptors, Kaiyodo penguins, Safari California condor or Papo black-browed albatross? With the pink fairy armadillo I noticed you also improved the quality of your homemade models.

The ground hornbill is definitely one of the highest quality Yowie in my opinion, I was pleasantly surprised upon receiving it. The legs are a little thick but this is probably to counter the lack of a base.

I have indeed strived to improve, and generally have been quite a bit happier with both sculpts and paint jobs. There will be quite a few more homemade ones appearing sooner or later.

Thanks for the comparison, it's very useful and I think that the size of the hornbill is slightly excessive for my collecting tastes, and much bulkier than my homemade helmeted hornbill, but it would match nicely with Papo cormorant. In the comparison photo the sculpt quality of this hornbill is even more noticeable.

No worries on the phone camera, many phones don't take the best pictures at a distance. The ones I posted upthread are phone photos, but taken 3-6 inches away.

New Schleich additions 1/8/23:

Otter - Unbelievably cute. I didn’t really know what to expect size-wise, as schleich is usually diverse with their animal sizes, sometimes making animals purposefully bigger for the purpose of enjoyment, but I’m happy this one was closer on the realistic side.


Hippopotamus Infant - Very satisfied with this one and how the texture and model matches the adults perfectly.


Orca Infant - I was looking most forward to this one and the hippo. Much smaller than I expected, though I’m not complaining . Practically an exact replica of the adult version, though slightly rougher texture.


Red Panda - I’ve been meaning to get this one for a while. I love the size and texture, though I’m not the biggest fan of the tail.


Giant Tortoise - The hippopotamus is good, but texture-wise, this one takes the cake. I love everything about this one, the shell, the skin, and the size.


Stork - Lastly, I got the stork because I felt I needed to add more birds to my Schleich list regardless.

Finally gotten around to attempting to get caught up on new additions with 27 still sitting ready in the wings even after these ten. Which of course I've added to by making more figures in the last couple days that will need painted besides the handful that already still needed painted... Sculpting inspiration hit and went very well, now I wait for the painting mood to strike again.
Anyways, a mixed set of branded figures and custom ones this time. Hopefully the next set will get all of the aquatics sitting around taken care of...
