While I think that the deers and the gazelles would go along, equines can be aggressive toward hoofstock smaller than themWhat about Onager, Persian fallow deer and Persian goitered gazelle?
If the enclosure is large enough, this mix could work (like the numerous African plains with Zebras or Wild Asses, Antelopes and other species). While I think that the deers and the gazelles would go along, equines can be aggressive toward hoofstock smaller than them

Can river hippos be mixed with anything besides African cichlids?
Yes. In Beauval there are Common Hippos mixed with European Freshwater Fish (Carps, Pikes, Sturgeons...) and many birds (Ducks, Storks, Ibises, Pelicans, Vultures...). European fish have been chosen for climatic reasons because the pool is located outdoors. Can river hippos be mixed with anything besides African cichlids?

Just remembered that longleat keeps theirs with California sea lions, though I doubt that will be done again anytime soon. Can river hippos be mixed with anything besides African cichlids?
That sounds a bit ambitious, as a hippo could just chop a sea lion in half with its jaws.Just remembered that longleat keeps theirs with California sea lions, though I doubt that will be done again anytime soon.
