Piquita a wooly monkey gave birth a week ago. She already has a daughter, Ayla, and is caring for the new baby.

i visited monkey world to day and was very disapointed!

all that staff were walking round on there mobiles ignoring questions, the t.v crew were pushing the few of us there were there out of there way and the gibbon talk was cancled because thee was only 2 of us waiting for it!

although, it was good to hear that there are no primates left in need of rescue, as they have dealt with them all already. and that there role is now as a creche for orang-utans from zoos.

I presume this piece of information means that Monkey World currently have no plans on rescuing any more primates, rather that there are no primates whatsoever in need of rescuing from various corners of the globe?

no the keeper informed me that they had stopped the trade and all primates in need of resuce were already at monkey world! obvelously she was wrong as there are many that i can think of off the top of my head.

Just a quick note, to the person who visited Monkey World, really disappointed that you did not enjoy your visit, do please contact us directly via the website to discuss. I am a little concerned also about the information you say you were given, it would be fantastic if the trade in primates and abuse of primates had stopped, but it has not and in fact in some cases, its getting worse. I can assure you Monkey World has not stopped rescuing primates and we will NOT stop fighting this war. We will continue to rescue & rehabilitate primates for the forseeable future.

Re: Capuchin 1 - Great news that the park are leading way in stopping the abduction of primates from the wild. Allthough resuces of chimps have decreased so that must be a great sign of the work you are other parks are doing.

Does anyone know when ash rodders and bryan are going to move out of the nursery group into an adult group also why is kai in the nursery orangutan group now?????? please reply as soon as is possible thanks!!!!

Woolly Monkey, Yarima gave birth earlier this week. Baby is unsexed but said to be doing well so far

The Siamang Gibbons are back on show following the enclosure renovation and quarantine of the new female

0:2 Common Marmosets arrived from the pet trade and both have since given birth with a surviving baby each. They were pregnant upon arrival

Does anybody know how many woolly monkeys they now hold , they seem to be breeding quite a few which is very good news .

I would guess at 19, they said 17 at some point late last year and they've had 2 births this year.

The Woolly Monkey, born to "Yarima" a few weeks back has now been sexed as a female and given the name "Eva"
