Any further info on the second gaur at Whipsnade?
 
Ankole Cattle at Blair Drummond and there is a group of Cape Buffalo at a RSPB Site somewhere in the UK, I visited...
 
Cape Buffalo! Are you sure. They are extremly dangerous. Maybe they were domestic water buffalo that you saw.:)
 
Probably, It was a good few years ago, Ill go with the Water Buffalo, they looked like Cape though....

In terms of wild taxa, the only taxa present in Europe but NOT the UK are the Mountain Anoa (Bubalus quarlesi) and the disputed subspecies, Wood Bison (Bison bison athabascae).

The UK also has various breeds of domestic cattle - in addition to good old Bos taurus in many forms there are also Heck cattle, yak, water buffalo and zebu (but not to my knowledge Gayal, which can be found on the continent).

Visited Wildwood yesterday, and a new enclosure for Wisent was under construction. They aim to have it ready by the end of the year.
 
Interesting news. On that note I'd also like to add that wisent are the next big animal planned for the New Forest Wildlife Park apparentley.

I saw a single animal in November 2008 (extremely dodgy photo attached) - don't think I saw it on my 2009 visit. It was in a side pen between the Addax area and the Eurasian reserve.

It could easily have been moved off show - I don't think it was ever labelled but it's still listed on ISIS so as far as I'm aware it's still there.

When I went, on Boxing Day 2009, it was in an virtually off-show enclosure at the top of the hill which you then go down past about three Tiger enclosures on your left (hope you can visualise from this desciption -there's also Fallow Deer in the enclosure you're driving through).
 
That sounds like the same place, though I think the route past has changed since I saw the anoa.

So no drastic changes a few more holders for wisent and Congo buffalo, that's it.
