I know naught about what you refer. The naming of things is solely a keeper thing, as long as it is not offensive, I don't care. As I have always said here the only thing important from a management view is the identifying number.
To a 'Greens' supporter (not the political party) it would be seen as offensive :D

Moonlit Sanctuary has three new species on display, Spiny Leaf Insects and Growling Grass Frogs (Southern Bell Frogs) have moved into one of the glass tanks in the water lab on the outside of the reptile house, both species were off display previously. They have also welcomed two new Green Tree Pythons to their rainforest enclosure inside the reptile house, co-habited with Green Tree Frogs and Boyd’s Forest Dragons. Reported via their Facebook page

Moonlit Sanctuary is looking for a new Life Sciences Manager! If you have what it takes to run a dedicated team working to further the conservation of threatened species, and give our visitors a wonderful experience, check it out!

Hi!

I'm potentially planning a trip to Australia, including Melbourne around Christmas/January of this year and Moonlit Sanctuary stands out to me as potentially the most exciting zoo in that region for someone from Europe, especially as I really love Quoll. Would the night tour be the best way to see them or is there anything else I should consider?

Thanks!

The park is really worth seeing both during the day and at night.

Hi everyone.

Just like I did for the New Zealand leg of my trip, I need to start asking you about the places I'll be visiting in Australia in May 2026, to help me plan the trip.

A key part of planning is transportation, and for that, I need to know how much time is required for each place. My main interest is in Australian native species and photographing them, although I really want to enjoy every place and I photograph practically everything... With that in mind, let's start with Moonlit. How much time is needed to visit it? I've seen that they have several shows and I'd like to know if they're worthwhile, especially the reptile show, because we'll probably have to go to the Penguin Parade on Phillip Island in the evening and I'd like to arrive on time. The only reptile show is at 2 pm, and I'm not sure if that might be too late to get to the penguins on Phillip Island, although I don't yet know what time I should be there. My idea is to be at Moonlit Park as early as possible, but my flight from New Zealand to Melbourne arrives at approximately 8 am and I'd need to collect my luggage and rent a car...
