Notes from today:
- 3 Visayan Warty Piglets were born a week and a half ago. There are following their mother everywhere and appear very healthy!
Due to this the cattle house is closed, but the piglets can be seen in the paddock closest to the okapis.
- 2 Scimitar Horned Oryx have been born. Both were suckling well and appeard healthy and content.
- Sibu appears very content on his island and I managed to get some shots of him on his climbing frame.
- The Croc pool looks excellent, very well planted, deep, clean water. Everything except the crocs
they will be moving in some time in the next couple of weeks.
- I didn't see a hornbill in the elephant house...
- The Writhed and Wrinkled hornbills in the tropical realm are both nesting (may have already been posted)
- The female warthog has been closed inside now and the mongoose have been given a temporary shelter.
- The cheetah enclosure is fantastic! Only two were on show and there was still construction going on in one paddock (the viewing dome).
- All the hoofstock are back on the Asian Plains and it is starting to look good again.
- The baby babirusa looks healthy and was running around the wood-chipped paddock with it's mother. The male was still seperated in the grass paddock.
- The baby giraffe is still off-show.
- Didn't see the bengal tigers at all and Kepala seemed outdoors all day (perhaps they've been moved on now...)
- No sign of construction starting for the African Aviary or the Hornbill aviary.
- The framework for the butterfly house looks near complete.
I have plenty of pictures and some videos which i will post links of soon...
