Movie review rant 2018

I'm not sure if I want to watch this movie, but just in case I didn't look at your spoiler. I assume it is only a couple of lines long though.

Then don't watch them. The only reason they keep on making movies in inferior quality is because people still watch them and buy the merchandise. Lots of people.
As for the CGI quality 1993 vs. 2018: I guess that back in the days, the responsible staff took more time to create a realistic dinosaur while entering virtual "virgin soil". Now that creating dinosaurs and other creatures via computers has become routine and thus "sloppy" at times.

I won't be in the future. I went to see this one because people told me it was better than the first one and I wanted to judge for myself.

I think you're likely on to something with the CGI aspect.

But did you enjoy it? :p I tried to make it entertaining but I did not mean to make it that long.
I enjoyed it. I like how you mentioned (a few times) one of my pet peeves with movies - namely that if a movie sets up rules for its internal universe, then simply stick to those rules. I don't want to have to "switch my brain off" to be able to enjoy a movie.

I actually disagree with a lot of CinemaSins critiques :p

So do I, but they have made me see movies in a different light entirely. Best example is I can't help but say "Roll Credits" every time the films title is said! ;)

If you want someone different I'd recommend CinemaWins!

I've tried but it's not the same, you do get some interesting information and easter eggs though. On the whole I prefer Sins, Wins is just too optimistic with every film! :p

I catch myself saying "roll credits!" as well :p

That's why I only watch videos on movies I've actually seen for CW :p

I just want to say that this thread has gone into mega Meta-territory. We're reviewing movie review videos, how many walls are we breaking here? :p

And as someone who watches CS, how can you even attempt to defend JP3? I've not seen Fallen Kingdom and probably won't be seeing it any time soon, but nothing in that film can be worse than that scene with Alan Grant in the plane hallucinating a raptor, surely? o_O

"Alan? Alan?" :p

At least 16 walls :p

Have you read my post? :p There are plenty of aspects of that film I think are worse than that raptor deam scene! But then again I don't think that sequence is all THAT ridiculous, it is a dream after all. The plot in JP3 may be silly, but I don't think it's as silly as dino-soldiers. At the very least I found JP3 to be the best looking of all the films (maybe not with the T. rex...)

Only skimmed it after the opening scene, I do want some surprises when I do get round to watching it! :p

We'll have to agree to disagree there, it just turned a vicious killing machine into a talking dino taking it easy on a private jet... My view won't be swayed! ;):p

It's been a while since I watched it so I can't say if the CGI as a whole (discounting the plane scene) holds up to Jurassic World, and obviously can't compare it to the new one having not watched it yet. I will bow down to your superior knowledge on the subject. :)

Oh yeah, I really, really hate that plane scene. Just in case that wasn't clear before. ;)

You're going to hate what they do here then!! :p

Fair enough on the plane scene then. When I first watched it I thought it was stupid but not outrageous. In the years since it seems to be the main thing people remember about the movie :p I think it's the Honest Trailer video for the movie where they play the clip over and over throughout the review :D

I've tried CinemaWins on occasion, but I find the guy's voice really annoying.

I concur, I also don't like his round-ups at the end of each film. I've just watched him go through the movie, I already know he likes it, so why spend even bloody longer telling me (again) what he thought of it?
