I hope to go to Edinburgh this summer, having not done so last year. I think your reports will be useful.

HWP concentrating on Forest Reindeer - amur leopards going through quarantine at Edinburgh (also waiting for enclosure to be built)

Ahh ok just thought edinbrugh were not keeping climate species eventually sending them all to HWP, are HWP getting snow leopards?

Tundra reindeer seem to be the exception, however if you have been at the top of the hill between November & April at the zoo it is very cold!!!!! Snow leopards are in the plans for the future at HWP

Ocellated turkeys have been swapped so now an unrelated male and two females in enclosure

female turaco, female bali starling and a new breeding pair of hornbills due to arrive shortly

It says the old Anteater has gone to another collection, is that Hamerton? I read a while ago they were expecting Edinburgh's Anteater.

0.1 Asiatic Golden Cat arrived last week - being held seperate from the male in the enclosures beside the polar bear (Binturongs currently off show)

Zane

YES! Thank you. Its pronounced 'Zarna' i think, but i think u spelt it right.
Edinburgh recently got a male amur too, but we never saw him or learnt his name... all i found out was that he was an older unrelated companion for Zane & they were eventualy to move to the highland wildlife park...

I hope they are successful breeding their golden cats as there aren't many about. I hope they mix well as they can be prone to killing females. Do you know if they are the same sub-species?

From Tierpark Berlin and Wuppertal came

1.1 Chinese grey goral
7.5 white lipped deer

The female goral will be paired with the male at Edinburgh who's mate died last year, whilst the male aged 1, will be paired with Beijing the goral (1st birth at the zoo), born last year.
The deer bring the zoo herd up to 16 animals, both species are currently being held in the now vacant camel house.
