What Twycross use the money over on another project you must be joking will be sat in the BANK waiting for the Rainy day when they need to spend it because the visitors have stopped going because of the state of the zoo.I was amazed when I saw the 'improvements' to Twycross's orang enclosure. the climbing apparatus was erected by an army battalion who probably did it for free and the total cost must have been a fraction of what was raised. I wonder what the people who motivated the fund raising thought of all this? Was the rest of the money just channeled into other projects? The Orangutan climbing facilities are still woefully inadequate and the enclosure now looks even more unnattractive than it did before...

I must say some areas, like the Tapirs, the Childrens area and of course the original old Ape ages are very shabby-looking. The orangutan house is badly in need of a total makeover(or a complete new house) too.
I agree, before they start rebuilding mediochre enclosures, they should focus on some of the worst aspects of the zoo. The aviaries in primley are long overdue and the ape house does need to be refurbished, if nothing else to cater for orang-utans!
Hello there I am a very observant person as a profesional artist /photographer
Also I visit the zoo 6 days a week! Hence the info.I just love seeing the animals and often I am asked Quote' Dont you get bored?
What a stupid question!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree - how could you be bored at a zoo! Do you have any animal photos you could share in the Gallery?
I understand that dissatisfaction has led to some staff changes. As one of the donors, and on behalf of the orangs, I'm angry about it. But the spending priorities at Twycross now indicate that visitors are more important than residents.
Quote member of staff at Paignton zoo .They have had a meeting because they are worried about how the ressetion will hit the zoo next year!
hELLO THERE,tHAT PLAN FOR THE NEW bABOON AREA WAS SCRAPPED AS THE neighbours [locals that is] complained as they thought the babaoons might escape and visit them.So no news on where they will make the new enclosure.I think we are talking a lot of money here .But I am sure they will get funding from the E.U. like they did with the crocodiles.Which is why they have the money 1.1/2 million left over from the croc funds! next time you go in the zoo check out the front window where they were saying how much they wanted for the crocodiles .they just swapped it over to the new baboon enclosure .No doubt they will have billy botch it in for the design hopefully not.
Talking of botch its the new tiger viewing platform has failed its 'health and safety check '.Waste of money but hey whats new.

Sorry but this is just not true!
I think it is really irrisponsible to post things on here that are either guess work or rumour.
Never heard of it.Whats a lesser Jakagi?
What isn't?
Just about every word in the paragraph I quoted from you!
Your source is decidedly dodgy or perhaps they are feeding you misinformation just to keep this board guessing?
