If Chester does want to become regarded as the UK's premier collection it would be nice if they paid more attention to the animal side of things.

Cotswold has a much better animal news service. Births and arrivals are listed even though the public may not know what a Jaguarundi is, the users of this site most certainly will.

I expect the Chester site is run by staff with little knowledge of animals, and I do not mean that as an insult. These people are excellent at PR. Just look at the increased media coverage and visitor numbers.

Just seen this older post on this thread. I certainly agree, as I mentioned previously on the 'zoo websites' thread, that most Uk zoowebsites nowadays seem to be run by marketing people who largely overlook the animal side of things- strange but true.... Cotswold's IS by far the best site as far as animal news is concerned- being a smaller collection I suspect its maintained mainly by their animal staff- it is excellent, easily the best UK one.
