New species of 19-million-year-old dugongid sirenian mammal from what is now Panama: Culebratherium alemani

What was once simply considered a population of American mastodon (Mammut americanum) is now considered a new species: the Pacific mastodon (M. pacificus). It was named based off remains discovered in Riverside County, California.

Two new species and one new subspecies of small mammal from the Cayman Islands: Nesophontes hemicingulus, Geocapromys caymanensis, and Capromys pilorides lewisi. Due to the appearance of the bones, it appears that these animals were eaten and pooped out by crocodiles.

A new species of 115-million-year-old of enantiornithean bird from what is now Gansu, China: Avimaia schweitzerae. The holytype specimen is a female that was on the verge of motherhood. Unfortunately for her, she experienced egg binding. In layman's terms her egg got stuck in her reproductive tract and caused her death.

The Chatham Penguin is by no means a new discovery.
 
New genus of 155-million-year-old marine teleosaurid crocodyliform from England and France: Bathysuchus. The species, Bathysuchus megarhinus, was named in 1871 but under the genus Teleosaurus.

New species of 34-million-year-old unnamed mysticete whale (yes early mysticetes had teeth) from Antarctica. Although the new species is unnamed, it is believed to of belonged to the already named genus Llanocetus.
