He was unfortunatelyWas he their only bontebok?
Same troop as Gus and the two other older bachelors.Move to Gus's troop ou another facility?
She passed in January. I don't trust any of Disney's official websites/socials, they like to treat DAK as a quasi zoo, releasing sporadic information that may or may not be accurate (Take for example their recent Instagram post about Gino's birthday which is actually in December.Sad to hear about Emma! As I mentioned back in March, according to the WDW Entertainment website she was not at the park anymore but various people on here have said not to trust it so I was optimistic about her. She lived a long life though, she was in her early 20s which is double the lifespan for Elds deer. When did Emma pass away? If it was either in March or before that the website was actually correct.
I am thinking this is a temporary fix until the AZA finds appropriate facilities for them to go to. As of right now none of the bachelors have been on-show so we'll see what actually happens. It very well may be the keepers decide to rotate two bachelor troops. As with the gorillas, I really think Corey and Flint moving to the bachelor troop is a bad choice. All three boys in the bachelor troop are elderly by now, all in their 30s or 40s. They have been together since the park opened in 1998 and the ruckus of two young males would be a big change to their lifestyle. It would be much better for Corey and Flint to have their own bachelor troop for now and they would rotate in and out with the other gorillas. After a while in a bachelor troop, males will find a family to take care of, which then would require Corey and Flint to move to other zoos.
Some more updates I forgot about:
-Ace (Ankoli cattle) also passed away earlier this year.
-The Asian Small Clawed Otters are off-show and Bruce (Paroon Shark Catfish) is temporarily in this habitat while his normal one is under refurb (Along with the entire trail).
-The Hawaiian Nene have been moved across the path to a previously unused exhibit (Come in past the turnstiles, turn right, first exhibit on the right) along with some fish (Unknown species, but possibly Florida Gar)
-The first exhibit in the Oasis section (Right in front of the turnstiles before you turn left or right) is back open and contains African and Roseate Spoonbills along with Rose-breasted Geese and Red-crested Pochards.
-Construction equipment is visible on the Safari and I believe new lights have been added so a return of the nightime Safaris could happen (Just a guess based on personal observation, no insider info)
