On Instagram they mentioned three species of takins are going to live together. Last year I saw a breeding group of Szechuan takins there. I wonder if it are all males or females because I think there is a likely chance on hybrids otherwise.

It will be indeed a bachelor group, the zoo offered to dedicate it's space for helping the EEP (even though one can wonder why EEP keep trying developing 3 subspecies).

If only everyone was like this...

Depending on your view on SSPs, you can either think this is hard work being done for the good of the preservation of biodiversity in ex-situ facilities or useless work for keeping different phenotypes of one species almost identical to keeping albino morphs
And in case my view wasn't clear I'm of the first :D

Irina arrives from Zurich, during the renovation of her exhibit.
The only male in Parc Animalier d'Auvergne is an 18-year-old hybrid.

I think at this point some scientists now believe that Budorcas should be split into four species

I've only just noticed this, but the EEP page for the takin on the EAZA website says that only the Mishmi and golden takins will be managed towards an insurance population with the Sichuan takin being phased out to make room for the other two.

Two Sudan Cheetahs (2,0) recently arrived in the park. They'll share the enclosure of Vicky (female). The two other females will leave the park.

By chance, any idea where the two females will go?
