I asked a keeper who cared for her at Lincoln Park why she transferred again so quickly, and apparently she didn’t get along with the Philly gorillas, but so far is doing well in Louisville.

Casey hasn't sired any offspring of yet, so I assume this move will allow him to be able to finally do so. He currently has two older females in his troop and one young female (a few years younger than Patty), so Patty should have more success fitting in this time around.

Paki and Kweli have a breeding recommendation with Casey since 2019, SSP consider these recommendations unlikely, people say that the only female he ever mated was Bandia.

Though she passed away in 2017, her legacy—and the Zoo’s gorilla program--continues to have far-reaching impacts in helping to protect the future of western lowland gorillas.
