ZooTampa has discontinued their work on their bonobo exhibit. Ana-Neema, Sukari, and Ana-Neema's three children Bila-Isia, Wilber, and Amelia were supposed to move there.

That is very disappointing to hear.
Have they found a replacement institution already (as the transfers hinge upon a major rearrangement of bonobo groups in the Americas)?
I'm not sure. They'll probably just remain at Columbus.

Donnie and Susie - son and mother, in Columbus, had a baby together?? Can anyone tell me more about this? 20+ years ago I observed this group for my dissertation, and I never dreamed that they would (or could) have a child together.
Also, RIP Unga. I was there the day she was introduced to the group after her stay in Canada during 9/11.
Inbreeding isn't as uncommon as you would think. If you look at the list, there are actually a few different inbreeding incidents.
Qasai from Milwaukee County Zoo received brain surgery but is recovering well.

Sukari and Elema from the Columbus Zoo have been transferred to Milwaukee County Zoo. In exchange, Faith from Milwaukee has been transferred to Columbus.
Elema has a breeding recommendation with a male at Milwaukee, while Sukari does not.
Faith has a breeding recommendation with Toby or Gander.
