I'm so glad to here Elema and Suakri are doing well! I miss them here at the Columbus Zoo.

They would need additional holders and capacity. Surprised not more zoos are interested in participating with these highly intelligent great apes with interesting social structure and behaviour.

I think it's because facilities assume the bonobos will sit there and have sex all day. You'd be surprised by how many people think that's all they do.

It was also recommended that he breed with Clara as well. Sadly it doesn't look like much breeding will be happening in the next few years.

The best I could think of is possibly Woodland Park, if they could possibly integrate Jumoke the gorilla into the gorilla family troop, or send her to a retirement facility (rather than bringing a male and two females) to live her. Then, the bonobos can live in the East Exhibit (and possibly rotate with the gorillas).
