Kisala will be introduced to male Xandor in Antwerp. The intention is for them to form a breeding pair. After the introduction, Kisala and Xandor are not meant to stay in Antwerp. If all goes well, it is planned to move the pair to another zoo at the end of this year.

An okapi has been born at Safaripark Beekse Bergen. It is a male and he has been named Quinn.

Okapi female Thamani will move from Wilhelma Stuttgart to ZooParc de Beauval on 20 June.

An okapi was recently born at Chester Zoo. It is a female and she has been named Arabi. Parents are Stump and K'tusha.

Okapi female Elika has moved from Zoo Frankfurt to Copenhagen Zoo. Before Elika's arrival, Copenhagen renovated and expanded its okapi stable, and also revamped the outdoor enclosure. They hope to breed again soon after five years without an okapi female.

In Opole, Poland the male Usala will be getting a female soon, the zoo announced. They will be the 25th Zoo (in Europe) that will try to breed okapi.

An okapi was born at Marwell Zoo on 21 July. Mother of the calf is Daphne.

At Antwerp zoo: Zaire is probably pregnant from Ubundu. Lindi is at Beekse Bergen having a vacation, she will probably return soon once pregnant. Kisala and Xandor will probably move to somewhere in Asia (not certain yet). Xambo's surgery results are to soon to tell if the treatment actually worked, it seems optimistic. If the treatment wasn't enough, the surgery can be repeated. They think the problem of the muscles being a bit to long around the knee are not a genetic issue but individual variation or bad luck.
Just like last year, I have made a list of the current population to start the beginning of the year with. The list was made using updates done by the zoos themselves, some websites and some Holding Request I did at Species360 this year.
As always, if you see a mistake in the list, or you know more about one of the animals, please let me know.
Besides this list, this time I have also made a short overview of what, as far as I know, happened within the European population last year.
Births
Last year, 4 okapis were born in Europe. Two males and two females.
Deaths
To my knowledge, one okapi died last year. Female Kisanga (27).
Transfers
To my knowledge, 5 okapis moved to another zoo last year.
Number of holders
Last year, no zoos stopped holding okapis last year, nor were there any new holders in Europe.

In hte London thread I read three year old Ede was PTS in London.
Okapi female Imani has moved from Cologne Zoo to Zoo Frankfurt. Here she lives with two other okapis, female Antonia and male Ngwani.
Mother Hakima is pregnant again, which is the reason for this move.
