Interesting. It was thought at one time that Auckland would aim to go into Sumatrans, I believe, but this must have changed. Their new exhibit looks very good.Zoo Ústí nad Labem has announced that 0:2 Bornean Orangutans, 'Ňuňinka' and 'Cantik', will be leaving to move to Auckland Zoo in the coming months. Ústí has also stated they intend to build a new Bornean Orangutan exhibit and have been promised 1:1 Bornean Orangutan from Zoo Madrid ('Sungay') and Ouwehands Dierenpark ('Daya'). The move will leave Ústí without any Bornean Orang-utans, but they will still hold the elderly hybrid male ('Ferda').
0:1 Bornean Orang-utan born at Novosibirsk Zoo in September 2019 to 'Batu' x 'Michelle'. The youngster was rejected by her mother, so has been hand-reared by keepers and named 'Julia'.
Nope, they are going through the process of reintroducing her to 'Michelle', so she will hopefully stay at Novosibirsk if the reintroduction is successful.@MagpieGoose do you think that Julia is destined for the Orangutan Nursery at Monkey World?
