Little things, but they mark a significant shift forward…, a return of cave (Mexican) fish to the tropical house, some residents confirmed as staying in the collection that were listed as leaving, a couple of enclosures occupied (domestics like Kune Kune & Jacob’s sheep) and a general air of positivity in the zoo today despite imminent staff redundancy - it wasn’t just the Torbaydos sunshine. Re. the collection: still a long, long way to go, but the short stabilising plateau feels like it has started to rise after a consistent drop for a number of years.
The wallaby enclosure had some screening around it probably due to aforementioned new arrivals and the car parks were ‘rammed’ hopefully signifying a large cash intake. C’mon!!, we’re hopefully getting there!
