I am not sure. I think they usually close for a couple months in winter (Jan-Feb?) but it is earlier this year I think due to Covid. The Facebook notice had a statement about how to deal with tickets that had already been purchased through the end of November (the new closure date went into effect Nov 1).
 
Park will reopen with this schedule and capacity. It is NOT necessary to purchase tickets in advance, though if they happen to fill up they may stop selling tickets for the day.
May 19-June 8: 50% capacity
June 9-June 30: 65% capacity
July 1 forward: 100% capacity
(4D cinema remains closed)
 
@Arizona Docent Some recent births from your prefered french park :
- two black jaguars (males),
- two lions but I don't know which subspecies (I suppose they are "common" lions). Father is Gao, last born of the lion troup already present at the opening of the park (15 years ago) and mother is Sky, arrived last year with her two sisters (Willow and Poppy) from Knowlsey.

The cubs are Katanga lions (Panthera leo bleyenberghi) ;)

Problem : on Zootierliste Knowsley is not listed in current or past holder for Katanga lions so I was not sure of this. Maybe some of our best foreign friends could confirm ;)

Does anybody know where the jaguar mother LEILA comes from? I only know the father TEO (* Benidorm).

Parc des félins is planning a 14 hectares extension to create a 100 rooms hotel (in 4 buildings), a restaurant and a new 9 hectares lions plain !!!

I don't know the timeline for this project but it need before planning permission a modification of the local urban plan to permit it. This modification is under way but is long (you know France is number one for paper work :D).

A new 9 hectares lions plain may be nice for the lions at night, but I guess that the lions will be resting during the day and may be hard to see, leading to complaints from visitors.

I'd much prefer it if the Parc des félins used the space to obtain and breed species currently absent from the collection. ZTL species include the Iberian lynx and marbled cat.
