Predator Passage | Phoenix Zoo
The rupell’s griffon vulture habitat is complete, though I haven’t seen it. From the maps, it seems to be an open topped enclosure. I wonder if the 13 vultures in the savanna will be transferred to this small area… though if they insist then i’ll trust them they will have a better space. I have never witnessed the flight of an old world vulture *I have seen new world’s fly* so an aviary would have been nicer.
Unlike the old countdown page which I believe can still be accessed as I archived it, the mention of the red ground hornbill being considered are gone. This probably signals that they have decided not to put the ambassadors *Referring to the ambassador hornbills they considered* on exhibit.
They would have been displayed near the old hyena and lion exhibits *which also, back in the 2000s, was the old tiger exhibit*. It has been discussed before bigger information came about this, that speculation of colubuses *which were officially mentioned in the much older pride campaign page* being there. A seems like we missed out on 2 animals which could of occupied this area, and fossa’s although announced 2 times in a pride campaign online news, the fossa’s were scrapped, and it has been over 2 years since the concept art of porcupines, servals, and a nocturnal house containing bats were long scrapped.
To sum it up, the vulture area of the new exhibit is viewable, the 20th-22nd will see celebration of the new opening, and I somberly go over a few tid bits such as fossa’s being considered which I believe was majorly unknown to phoenix zoochatters.
