With the Australia Pack now released I thought of this fun thread for people here to post their ideas and hopes for future Planet Zoo DLC. I have some different DLC ideas such as continuing the regional packs currently implemented, biome packs for animals of specific biomes, and others. Currently, I have three pack ideas that would be free to purchase explained below:

Wetland/ Freshwater Aquariums Pack
The Australian DLC came alongside a free update with a new mission scenario in a wetland setting and new behavior changes for animals such as elephants, hippos, polar bears, and other animals that will now spend specie-specific amounts of time in or around water and can sleep underwater, which has led me to believe that soon we may see the inclusion of more aquatic animals such as some of the ones in this pack. This pack is meant to highlight wetland animals from around the world and introduces a new exhibit type, freshwater aquariums. They will work similarly to exhibits, however, there will require being placed within a power source to function. There will be no fish included though as I believe those would be better for a full aquarium expansion pack, freshwater turtles, amphibians, and other herps will be featured.

Capybara - Tropical-Grassland-Aquatic
American Alligator - Temperate-aquatic
Asian Small-clawed Otter - Temperate-Tropical-Aquatic
Grey Crowned Crane - Grassland-Aquatic
Axolotl (Freshwater Aquarium)
Tentacled Snake (Freshwater Aquarium)
Red-eared Slider (Freshwater Aquarium)
Mata-Mata (Freshwater Aquarium)
Aquatic Caecilian (Freshwater Aquarium)
Surinam Toad (Freshwater Aquarium)

Invasive Species Pack
With Planet Zoo having a strong focus on conservation I thought a great pack idea would be an invasive species pack highlighting invasive animals and humans' role in their spread. Many zoos do display species invasive in certain regions of the world just for this reason. A neat gameplay update is that if any of these animals escape, players will receive a fine for their release into the native ecosystem until they're recaptured.

Wild Boar - Temperate-Taiga
Nutria - Temperate-Aquatic
Reeve's Muntjac - Temperate-Tropical
Common Brushtail Possum - Temperate
Cane Toad (Exhibit) - Tropical-Grassland

Biodiversity Pack
This is the largest expansion pack I have thought of and is meant to highlight the animal species that are not a part of the game due to other closely-related species or subspecies filling their spots. Considering how limited the games animal roster is, this would be a good way to include some animals that are common in captivity and would include animals from regions of the world that the current ones already don't cover. It would also require little work from Frontier to implement.

African Forest Elephant - Tropical
Asiatic Lion - Grassland-Temperate
Sumatran Tiger - Tropical
American Black Bear - Temperate-Taiga
Nubian Giraffe - Desert
Grevy's Zebra - Desert
Blue Wildebeest - Grassland
Gaur - Tropical - Grassland
Blackbuck - Temperate-Grassland
Sitatunga - Grassland-Tropical-Aquatic
American Flamingo - Tropical-Aquatic
Congo Peafowl - Tropical
Golden-bellied Capuchin - Grassland
Barbary Macaque - Temperate
Drill - Tropical
Black-and-white Ruffed Lemur - Tropical
Iberian Wolf - Temperate
Malayan Tapir - Tropical
Argali - Tundra
African Spurred Tortoise - Desert
Scimitar-horned Oryx - Desert
Dromedary - Desert
European Bison - Temperate
Tree Pangolin - Tropical
Eastern Grey Kangaroo - Grassland-Temperate
Perentie - Desert
Nile Crocodile - Grassland-Desert-Aquatic
West African Slender-snouted Crocodile - Tropical-Aquatic
False Gharial - Tropical-Aquatic
Giant Ditch Frog (Exhibit) - Tropical
Guatemalan Beaded Lizard (Exhibit) - Tropical
Utila Iguana (Exhibit) - Tropical
Ikaheka Snake (Exhibit) - Tropical
Dumeril's Boa (Exhibit) - Tropical
Rhinoceros Viper (Exhibit) - Tropical

I have my own DLC ideas;

Ornithology Pack - Focuses on Birds with a new Campaign mission and introduces the Aviary type mini exhibit
Habitat Birds - RockHopper Penguin, Gentoo Penguin, Trumpeter Swan, Marabou Stork
Exhibit Birds - Bald Eagle, Scarlet Macaw, Cincerous Vulture, Barn Owl, Toco Toucan, Rodrigues Fruit Bat, Scarlet Ibis, Common Raven, Rock Dove, Rhinoceros Hornbill, Sulphur-Crested Cockatoo.
Bonus Birds (if previous DLCs installed)
Arctic Pack - Snowy Owl
South America Pack - Hyacinth Macaw
Australia Pack - Kookaburra

Please don't judge me here on my predictions. I'm not usually very good at this sort of thing.

Once Planet Zoo have done with continent DLC's, I think they should focus more regional DLC's of a few different countries or sections of each continent.

It would be good to do a few DLC's which will include more than 5 species per pack, maybe more up to 20-30 or so species, and more trees too instead of more building pieces.

Asian DLC packs:

- Papua New Guinea
- Sumatra
- Java
- Borneo
- Malaysia
- Philippines
- India
- China
- Japan & Far East

African DLC packs:

- Kenya
- South Africa
- Savannah/Grasslands/Swamps/Wetlands
- Madagascar
- Deserts (Sahara and Namibia)
- Tropical Rainforests

South American DLC packs:

- Amazon Rainforests
- Andes Mountain
- Pantanal
- Patagonia

Other DLC packs would include:

- Australia 2 (to include Common Wombat, Emu, Bennett's Wallaby, and some smaller species)
- North America
- Europe and UK
- New Zealand (to include the Tuatara and Kea)
- Aviary pack (to include many different bird species around the world and netting)
- Reptile/Amphibian/Insect pack (many different species from around the world)
- Aquarium

I'm not really into adding large Whales, Dolphins or Sharks to the game or anything prehistoric and extinct.

So here's idea I've been brewing lately. I came up with 9 possible DLCs to come and two expansions.

These two expansions each would be followed by their free updates respectively. One that adds placebale, pre-build but to extent customizable aviaries, and the other that adds diving animations and all kinds of underwater gimmicks.

These expansions would hold 8 instead of 4 regular animals since they delve into areas untouched in game, so there's more ground to cover.

Semi-Aquatic expansion:
-Asian Small Clawed Otter
-Northern Sea Otter
-Amazon Giant Otter
-Harp Seal
-Steller Sea Lion
-California Sea Lion
-Rockhopper Penguin
-King Penguin

Aviary expansion:
-Golden Eagle
-Eurasian Eagle Owl
-Toco Toucan
-Scarlet Macaw
-Blue and Yellow Macaw
-Sulfur Crested Coockatoo
-Greater Bird of Paradise
-Kookaburra

Now 8 birds don't to justice in this game so here's how I imagined it.

If we have three years of support, that means 9 dlcs left ( 1 this year, and 4 each other )

I crafted a slightly new dlc model which adds two aviary species on existing 4h+1e model

With that said here goes my dlc roadmap:

2020:

European DLC:
-4H:Red Fox
-Eurasian Badger
-Fallow Deer
-Wild Boar
-1E: Fire Salamander
-2A: Bearded Vulture
-Hoopoe

2021:

African DLC:
-4H:Black Rhinoceros
-South African Penguin
-African Leopard
-Cape Porcupine
-1E: Panther Chameleon
-2A: African Grey Parrot
-Red Billed Hornbill

North American DLC:
-4H: Moose
-American Alligator
-Wolverine
-Mountain Lion
-1E: Texas Horned Lizard
-2A: Snowy Owl
-Bald Eagle

East Asia DLC:
-4H: Siamang Gibbon
-Clouded Leopard
-Malayan Tapir
-Proboscis Monkey
-1E: King Cobra
-2A: Phillipine Eagle
-Great Hornbill

Amazon DLC:
-4H: Capybara
-Black Howler Monkey
-Ocelot

-Przewalski Wild Horse
-Peere David's Deer
-Iberian Lynx
-1E: Axolotl
-2A: Spix Macaw
-Californian Condor

My best guess is that the game will rotate through each continent with more 5 animal packs. If this is the route they take, I hope these are the next few packs-
1. American Wetlands
American Alligator
North American River Otter
Whooping Crane
Bobcat
Western Pond Turtle (exhibit)
2. Southern Africa
African Penguin
Southern White Rhino
Greater Kudu
Slender-tailed Meerkat
African Pancake Tortoise (exhibit)
3. China
Chinese Central Goral
Sichuan Takin
Dhole
Clouded Leopard
Chinese Giant Salamander (exhibit)
4. South American Aviary
Crested Oropendola
Hyacinth Macaw
Toco Toucan
Venezuelan Troupial
Scarlet Ibis

My ideas for North America and Europe packs are pretty typical. A different suggestion that I have, I think it would be cool if the PZ developers partnered up with a real life zoo to make a DLC pack! Planet Coaster had some licensed packs so I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility. Of course, there are all sorts of zoos that this could be done with. Like, imagine if they did it with San Diego Zoo and Safari Park. Selection could be something like the Tasmanian devil, red river hog, tuatara, babirusa, and clouded leopard. Or something like that. Such a pack could include iconic decor items from the zoo, new enrichment items recommended by zoo staff, and it could come with blueprints that recreate some of the exhibits and buildings.

Or possibly iconic zoo exhibits. For instance, the National Zoo's Asia Trail DLC would include Asian Small-clawed Otter, Clouded Leopard, Sloth Bear, Fishing Cat, and the scenery needed to recreate the Exhibit in your zoo.

Let's say Planet Zoo has a total of 9 expansions; here is how I would plot out the remaining six

1. North America Pack
Habitat - Moose, Wolverine, American Beaver, Florida Panther
Exhibit - Alligator Snapping Turtle

2. Asia Pack
Habitat - Mongolian Wild Horse, Binturong, Clouded Leopard, Pere David's Deer
Exhibit - King Cobra

3. Africa Pack

5. Marine Biology Pack

Exhibit - Clownfish, Red-Bellied Piranha, Electric Eel, Copperband Butterflyfish, Royal Blue Tang, Volitans Lionfish, Boeseman Rainbowfish, Koi, Banded Archerfish, Yellow Perch, Epaulette Shark, Japanese Spider Crab

6. Conservation Pack
Habitat - Platypus, Javan Rhinoceros, Musk Ox, Fennec Fox, American Alligator, Markhor
Exhibit - Mata Mata Turtle, Indigo Snake, American Bullfrog, Orchid Mantis, Frilled Lizard, Hellbender Salamander, Coconut Crab, Emerald Tree Python, Spiny Softshell Turtle, Naked Mole Rat, Flathead Catfish, Ballan Wrasse, Moon Jellyfish, Slender SeaHorse, Peregrine Falcon, Rodrigues Fruit Bat, New Zealand Kiwi

Since the sun bear was accidentally leaked, here's my idea for an Asian DLC.
  1. Sun bear (somewhat confirmed)
  2. clouded leopard
  3. Markhor
  4. White-cheeked gibbon
  5. Indian cobra (exhibit animal)
Some other possibilities for the DLC could be the Mongolian wild horse, red-crowned crane, dhole, Sichuan takin, Malayan tapir, Asian small-clawed otter. binturong, tufted deer, muntjac, Asian water monitor, and probably a few others

Some animals I want, but don't expect to be in the pack
  • any animal where there are already animals in-game that are very similar
  • free-flight birds (waiting for an aviary DLC)
  • sloth bear (don't expect to see two similar animals to be in the same pack)

I think the sun bear will be in a pack exclusively for Southeast Asia. It could include-
1. Sun Bear
2. Lowland Anoa
3. Northern Sulawesi Babirusa
4. Northern White-cheeked Gibbon
5. Green Tree Python (exhibit)

The other option is the Sun Bear will be a free "christmas present" and not part of a DLC.

Although I'm still a beginner with this game, I already love it. And so I also have my thoughts about possible extensions/extra packs for the future (although most of them are already brought up by my forewriters).

My first and most preferred wish is an ultimate african extansion pack ("ultimate" because it should contain 15 species, not only 5). Some may now say that there are many African species already (which is correct), but it is also true that the fauna of Africa has in general the most interest by common zoo visitors.

The species are:
1. (African) Leopard (should be easy to implement for the developers and could be used for asian themes as well)
2. Nile Crocodile (should be easy to implement for the developers = can copy most movements from the Saltwater Crocodile)
3. Meerkat (I know, I know, many don't like them but they belong to the most attractive zoo animals, could be socialized with Aardvarks)
4. Cape or Crested Porcupine
5. Serval or Caracal
6. Black or White Rhino (should be easy to implement for the developers = can copy most movements from the Indian Rhino)
7. Rueppell's Vulture
8. African Marabou Stork
9. Egyptian Goose (could be socialized with many other species)
10. Helmeted Guinea Fowl (could be socialized with many other species)
11. Village Weaver (or another bigger and colored weaver species)
12. Superb Starling
13. Southern or Northern Ground Hornbill
14. Red-billed Hornbill
15. Black Mamba or Red Spitting Cobra

For Asia, I would like to divide the packs in a South Asian and North/Central Asian extension pack part:

The species for the South Asia extension are:
1. Siamang or White-handed Gibbon
2. Axis Deer
3. Sun Bear or Binturong
4. Great Hornbill
5. King Cobra

The species for the Northern/Central Asia extension are:
1. Markhor (copy from Zootycoon?)
2. Takin (any subspecies)
3. Red-Crowned Crane
4. Mandarin Duck or Bar-headed Goose
5. Roseate Pelican

The extension for North America would have the Everglades/Southern Wetlands-theme.
The species are:
1. American Alligator
2. Cottonmouth
2. Cougar (could also be used in other American themes)
3. Florida Manatee
4. Bald Eagle (could also be used in other North American themes)

The second extension for North America would be the Desert.
The species are:
1. Bobcat
2. Javelina/Peccary
3. Gila
4. Collared Lizard
5. Sidewinder

The third extension for North America would be the Prairie/Plains.
The species are:
1. Black-tailed Prairie Dog
2. American Badger
3. Wapiti or Mule Deer
4. Turkey Vulture
5. Burrowing Owl

And the fourth extension for North America would be the Temperate Forest.
The species are:
1. American Beaver
2. Racoon
3. Striped Skunk
4. North American Porcupine
5. Turkey

And finally an(other) extension for Australia.
The species are:
1. Short-beaked Echidna
2. Common or Southern Hairy Wombat
3. Sulphur-crested Cockatoo
4. Rainbow Lori
5. Laughing Kookaburra

Edit: Just realized that there are already Gilas for Planet Zoo.
So I change No 3. in North America Desert to Anna's Hummingbird or Desert Gopher Tortoise.
