With the Australia Pack now released I thought of this fun thread for people here to post their ideas and hopes for future Planet Zoo DLC. I have some different DLC ideas such as continuing the regional packs currently implemented, biome packs for animals of specific biomes, and others. Currently, I have three pack ideas that would be free to purchase explained below:
Wetland/ Freshwater Aquariums Pack
The Australian DLC came alongside a free update with a new mission scenario in a wetland setting and new behavior changes for animals such as elephants, hippos, polar bears, and other animals that will now spend specie-specific amounts of time in or around water and can sleep underwater, which has led me to believe that soon we may see the inclusion of more aquatic animals such as some of the ones in this pack. This pack is meant to highlight wetland animals from around the world and introduces a new exhibit type, freshwater aquariums. They will work similarly to exhibits, however, there will require being placed within a power source to function. There will be no fish included though as I believe those would be better for a full aquarium expansion pack, freshwater turtles, amphibians, and other herps will be featured.
Capybara - Tropical-Grassland-Aquatic
American Alligator - Temperate-aquatic
Asian Small-clawed Otter - Temperate-Tropical-Aquatic
Grey Crowned Crane - Grassland-Aquatic
Axolotl (Freshwater Aquarium)
Tentacled Snake (Freshwater Aquarium)
Red-eared Slider (Freshwater Aquarium)
Mata-Mata (Freshwater Aquarium)
Aquatic Caecilian (Freshwater Aquarium)
Surinam Toad (Freshwater Aquarium)
Invasive Species Pack
With Planet Zoo having a strong focus on conservation I thought a great pack idea would be an invasive species pack highlighting invasive animals and humans' role in their spread. Many zoos do display species invasive in certain regions of the world just for this reason. A neat gameplay update is that if any of these animals escape, players will receive a fine for their release into the native ecosystem until they're recaptured.
Wild Boar - Temperate-Taiga
Nutria - Temperate-Aquatic
Reeve's Muntjac - Temperate-Tropical
Common Brushtail Possum - Temperate
Cane Toad (Exhibit) - Tropical-Grassland
Biodiversity Pack
This is the largest expansion pack I have thought of and is meant to highlight the animal species that are not a part of the game due to other closely-related species or subspecies filling their spots. Considering how limited the games animal roster is, this would be a good way to include some animals that are common in captivity and would include animals from regions of the world that the current ones already don't cover. It would also require little work from Frontier to implement.
African Forest Elephant - Tropical
Asiatic Lion - Grassland-Temperate
Sumatran Tiger - Tropical
American Black Bear - Temperate-Taiga
Nubian Giraffe - Desert
Grevy's Zebra - Desert
Blue Wildebeest - Grassland
Gaur - Tropical - Grassland
Blackbuck - Temperate-Grassland
Sitatunga - Grassland-Tropical-Aquatic
American Flamingo - Tropical-Aquatic
Congo Peafowl - Tropical
Golden-bellied Capuchin - Grassland
Barbary Macaque - Temperate
Drill - Tropical
Black-and-white Ruffed Lemur - Tropical
Iberian Wolf - Temperate
Malayan Tapir - Tropical
Argali - Tundra
African Spurred Tortoise - Desert
Scimitar-horned Oryx - Desert
Dromedary - Desert
European Bison - Temperate
Tree Pangolin - Tropical
Eastern Grey Kangaroo - Grassland-Temperate
Perentie - Desert
Nile Crocodile - Grassland-Desert-Aquatic
West African Slender-snouted Crocodile - Tropical-Aquatic
False Gharial - Tropical-Aquatic
Giant Ditch Frog (Exhibit) - Tropical
Guatemalan Beaded Lizard (Exhibit) - Tropical
Utila Iguana (Exhibit) - Tropical
Ikaheka Snake (Exhibit) - Tropical
Dumeril's Boa (Exhibit) - Tropical
Rhinoceros Viper (Exhibit) - Tropical
