Planete sauvage, im supposed to be visiting this attraction this summer could someone give me a bit of info about it and what rare/unusual species they keep there, thanks
 
The visit is by car. You'll see the bigs fives and other animals present in other zoos (zebra, giraffe, bison, ...). A council makes the visit a car in the morning

Which elephants are in the ele herd right now?

I have on record:
0.1 Pretti (ex Koeln Zoo in 2005)
0.1 Flossie (ex Dudley Zoo in 2003 - died 3/2004)
0.1 Flora (ex Dudley Zoo in 2003)
0.1 unidentified ...?

Between you and me 0.1 Flora is the only reproductively viable cow. Why not sent her to an elephant breeding facility instead? Planete Sauvage does not have access to a bull and has not for considerable time .... :mad:
 
Last week, Planete Sauvage received a young male White Rhino from Safari de Peaugres - Goliath (B18/9/2012) was the first calf to be bred at Peaugres
 
1.0 sable antelope born as well as 0.0.1 Kirk's dik-dik
0.2 North American wood bison have arrived from Hanover to start a breeding group.
 
The park has received a male Malayan tiger KAWI from Prague, a female is still to be located.

A few things from a recent visit;
•Two new Wildebeest calves seem to be doing well and growing up quickly.

•Over 10 very young Rhesus Macaques also seem to be causing problems for the adults.

•Impala herd seems to have shrunk massively, since my last visit in Easter 2018.

•Increased herds of Eland, Oryx, Ankole Cattle, Sable Antelope, Llama, Bison and Sitatunga.

•Only 2 adult elephants in show, both female.

•Both otters(2.0) and Visayan spotted deer(1.?) are new additions to the Inca trail.

Questions;
•Also, does anyone know anything about the Park not keeping Springbok, Blesbok and Waterbuck anymore?

•How many breeding female cheetah do they hold, I know of at least one, any more?

•Do the plains zebra and lions breed or not?
 
HI, when did you go to Planete sauvage ?

- we have 3.0 visayan spotted deer in the Asian area.
- blesbok (1.14) and Common waterbuck (2.6) are still but perhaps inside for vet visit. We stoped with the springbok.
- we have one female cheetah in backstage and 5 males.
- zebra restarted to breed this year because of a young male (0.1 born one month ago)
- our pride of Angolan lions arrived this year and are young (between 1 and 2.5 years) so we have to wait some months.
- did you see new South American monkeys (red howlers, saki and pied tamarins) ?

My visit was in June, heading back in late August.
I only saw one of the deers but both new otters were out. I assumed there was only one male deer.
With that many blesbok, they were definitely off show, will lookout for the waterbuck, as I haven’t seen them for the last 2 visits and are a favourite.
Excited about the new S.American Monkeys as I didn’t see them and haven’t seen red howlers for quite some time.
I understand the lions, hope for cubs in the future, but great news about a new zebra foal.
