Primates in mixed exhibits

San Diego Zoo: Allen's swamp monkey, guenons, red river hog
Rio Safari Elche: Bornean orangutan, White handed gibbon
Münster Allwetterzoo: Bornean orangutan, small-ckawed otter
Parque de Cabárceno: Western lowland gorilla, Brazza'sm guenon

Houston has had and still has quite a few. Their Patas Monkeys used to share their exhibit with Dik-diks but don't anymore. The Pantanal combines Howler Monkeys with Golden Lion Tamarins. The Orangutan exhibit has several turtle species in their moat including yellow-headed temple turtles, Malaysian giant pond turtles, Fly River turtles, and painted turtles. Finally, their gorilla enclosure includes a little creek for red river hogs. I don't think the hogs can make their way out of the creek and the gorillas seem to mind their own business and not bother them, so they don't exactly share space, but they technically still live together. Houston was apparently the only zoo in the world to mix the species back when it opened back in 2015 but I'm not sure if that is still true.

Opole: black howler monkeys with maned wolves
Wien Haus des Meeres: marmosets with kaimans at the kroki hall - there is a lot of space between water and the small marmosets
in several places: new world monkeys with armadillos
Rhenen: Gorillas with meerkats and roloway monkeys and red headed turacos

Common chimpanzee and Black backed jackal:

Taronga Zoo’s Chimpanzee Park had three Black backed jackals living with the chimps in 1982. The jackals had bolt holes, but predictably, one was eventually caught and ripped to pieces by the chimps. The remaining jackals were removed.

Taronga then attempted to house Patas monkeys with the chimpanzees, which unsurprisingly failed.

Was someone there very drunk when making these decisions? Surely, even at that time, it must have been clear how dangerous chimpanzees are to other species.
