Primates in mixed exhibits

Oh yeah I forgot about that one. I believe that rhesus monkeys were mixed with another primate at woburn safari park before the other species were unfortunately killed in a fire that destroyed their house. I don't believe they were ever replaced but I'd like to hear from anyone who knows more on the matter. I do also remember more hoofstock sharing this exhibit too.

Was it a group of Patas Monkey that died in the fire? Woburn also had drills for a period in that drive -through enclosure in the wooded area, sharing with whatever hoostock lived with them- Bongo? The drills (about half a dozen) were surplus males from Europe. Two of them were later transferred I think- to Bristol, I don't know what happened to the rest of them.

I seem to remember when I went to Woburn Safari Park (cannot remember exactly what year it was, but it was a pretty long time ago) they had patas monkey, Barbary macaque, colobus monkey and grivet monkey all living together in the drive-through enclosure.

Yeah it was patas monkeys. I'm gonna do some digging to see what happened to them. Let me know if you find out anything. Cheers @Pertinax

Bongos did feature at one point. I'm not sure if they rotated with some other hoofestock but there were definitely barbary macaque and grivet at one point. I'd never heard of the park housing colobus monkeys before so thanks @DesertRhino150 :)

Very sad indeed. The only group I know of is pair at folly farm who I recently visited. It's funny actually as these are also in a mixed exhibit with red pandas.

I have just remembered that the lemurs at South Lakes Safari Zoo are currently mixed with andean bears! I don't think this will last long :D

Some Primate-with-non-primate mixes from a few Dutch zoos:

Amersfoort:
- Grey-handed night monkey with Two-toed sloth and Western woylie.
- Pygmy slow loris and Senegal galago with Malagasy jumping rat.

Apenheul:
- Coppery titi, Bearded emperor tamarin, Silvery marmoset and White-faced saki with Red-footed tortoise.
- Golden-headed lion tamarin, Pied tamarin, White-faced saki and Venezualan red howler with Red-legged seriema and formerly also Chilean pudu.
- Grey-handed night monkey with Two-toed sloth.
- Barbary macaque with Domesticated donkey. There used to be Barbary sheep instead of the donkeys.
- Northern talapoin and King colobus with African spurred tortoise.
- Black spider monkey with Capybara.

Aquazoo Leeuwarden:
- White-faced saki with Azara's agouti and Two-toed sloth.
- Lar gibbon with Harbour seal (The Gibbon moat is used as a seal separation enclosure).

Artis:
- Grey-handed night monkey with Brazilian porcupine, Two-toed sloth, Burrowing owl and formerly Brazilian tanager.
- Red-faced spider monkey with Great white pelican and Eurasian great cormorant. There's also Black-crowned night herons around, but I don't know if they can actually access the island.

Avifauna:
- Ring-tailed, Red-bellied and Red ruffed lemurs with Western Black-crowned crane, Black stork (formerly also European white stork), Vulturine guineafowl and Crested guineafowl.
- White-faced saki, Coppery titi, Bearded emperor tamarin and Venezualan red howler. Multiple ground birds used to be held here, but they were removed when a Tinamou drowned in the moat, not because of aggression with the monkeys. (Birds included Red-legged seriema, Elegant-crested tinamou and Nocturnal curassow).

Beekse Bergen:
- Hamadryas baboon with African elephant.

Blijdorp:
- Gelada with Blue-winged goose and Yellow-necked francolin.
- Ring-tailed lemur with Helmeted guineafowl

Dierenrijk:
- Crab-eating macaque with Asian elephant, Central European red deer and Chital.

GaiaZOO:
- Bolivian squirrel monkey and White-lipped peccary are held in the same region, though the Peccary are separated and I didn't see the Squirrel monkeys get anywhere near them. So I wouldn't call this one safe just yet.
- White-faced saki, Golden lion tamarin and Geoffrey's tufted-ear marmoset with Capybara
- Yellow-breasted capuchin with the same capybara (the monkeys are separated by a moat which the Capybaras can cross, quite creative).

Orchideeënhoeve:
- Red-bellied tamarin with Victoria crowned-pigeon, Violet turaco, Ringed teal, Crested wood partridge, Collared hill partridge and Toco toucan.
- Common marmoset with White-cheeked turaco.
- Ring-tailed lemur with American flamingo, Scarlet ibis, European white stork, Australian wood duck, Call duck, Gadwall, Goosander, Mandarin duck, Northern pintail, Ringed teal, Wood duck, White-faced whistling duck and Golden pheasant.

Ouwehands:
- White-handed gibbon with Great white pelican.
- Western lowland gorilla and King colobus with Meerkat (and formerly Red-crested turaco).

Wildlands:
- Wildlands' big greenhouse 'Rimbula' has three primate islands. One holding Ring-tailed, Black and Black-and-white ruffed lemurs, and the other two holding Colombian black spider monkey and Lar gibbon. There are many birds free-roaming in the greenhouse, but I saw Hottentot teal, White-winged wood duck and Laughing dove on the spider monkey island and Red-whiskered bulbul on the Gibbon island.
- Golden lion tamarin, White-faced saki and Bearded emperor tamarin with Azara's agouti.
- Peruvian squirrel monkey with Southern three-banded armadillo and Azara's agouti.

ZooParc Overloon:
- White-faced saki and Golden lion tamarin with Two-toed sloth and Grey-winged trumpeter.
- Coppery titi with Azara's agouti and Paraguayan tamandua.
- Ring-tailed, Red ruffed and Black-and-white ruffed lemur with Hermann's tortoise.
- DeBrazza's monkey with Reticulated giraffe and Dwarf zebu.

Prague had a mixed exhibit in which Sumatran orangutans were housed with lar gibbons in the Indonesian jungle. They now have a mixed exhibit in which gorillas are with mantled guerezas in the Dja reserve.

Darling Downs Zoo keeps Brazilian Agouti with both Common Marmosets and also Bolivian Squirrel Monkeys.

An earlier attempt to keep Common Marmosets with Janday Conures failed due to the Marmosets stealing the Conure eggs.

I would have thought keeping smallish birds with any primates would be problematical
