Rather stretching the concept of useful news, no?
I wouldn't say it's a useless piece of news because 1. It isn't enrichment in the sense of something that can be easily destructible. 2. I report on exhibit renovations and improvements all the time, which this seems to fit.
It's not exactly the most helpful though, changing a piece of exhibit furniture is a regular occurrence and in most cases not worth reporting unless decidedly significant. No difference in this case between a new perch being added or replacing a plant.
If you think this is me just stretching out the news, I won't argue with you there.
Yes, I do. If every change to an exhibit was reported on we'd be up to our necks in boring posts.
Then we can agree to disagree and let the staff handle it.
I have never visited Queens Zoo and did not know they exhibit pudu. If you had not reported that bit of news I might never have known they were there. So thank you! If any zoo releases information to the media about a change, no matter how “small”, it is worthy of inclusion in its thread here and I find it to be anything but boring.

Wait a sec - this is Prospect Park, not Queens. Where would Queens put a wreathed hornbill if their focus is on the Americas? On May 4th, the zoo announced they have acquired a (0.1) wreathed hornbill named Clementine from the San Antonio Zoo in Texas in early 2021.
